I had that problem the first season I bought these but then I cleaned & dried them thoroughly, bought a tube of silicone caulking and thoroughly sealed them from the the inside on every seam. Not a single spider since on any of the boxes we have.

Thankfully I've never seen a scorpion in our neck of the woods. I'd have to move.

Not too worried about the spiders. It's the scorpions I hate.

^ yikes. For the price would expect it to seal well enough to keep out rain and spiders…

Reviews have stated the box kept it's contents from getting wet even during heavy rains.

Junk. After about 5 months in the sun, it swelled up and no longer could completely close.

You're talking about other brand. I had this one since 2018, abused under the sun and still strong. It lives up to its name, unlike rubbermaid.

I just returned this to Costco. It may be water-resistant, but it is not waterproof. Upon purchase, I sealed the joints with silicon. It still leaks because the joints expand & contract when the temperature fluctuates. Water even got inside the plastic walls.

Is there a latch to keep the top from opening in high winds?
