Well I think a MacBook Air is expensive compared to let's say an orange, which provides Vitamin C, is delicious, and sustains life.

i got one from same seller around a year ago for about the same price. theyre good but the ANC is too strong for me, it feels like a suction cup between my ears and gives me headaches. heard you get used to it after a while but it still bothers me. also the headband hurts my head where it sits naturally, i have to shift it toward the front of my head a little more to relieve it.

the black also leaves some finger prints especially if you have oily skin/fingers. i would probably get the white one if i were to do it again.

That's unfair, an Apple to oranges comparison.

I got the XM4 for 189 euros at the Amsterdam airport after getting my Global Blue tax refund on it (229ish pre-refund). I have no idea why they are so cheap there, but if you're ever in the neighborhood, it's a great deal.

I bought a pair from this seller recently and the right ear didn't work out of the box. I was able to return them, but they aren't really all that "refurbished".

These headphones and the XM4 scored very poorly on the lab tests posted on AudioScienceReview.

I think it's doubtful that the XM5 is any better than the old 1000X.

There's just too many limitations on the fidelity that can app achieved with these Bluetooth headphones.
Well, if you're shopping wirelees noise-cancelling headphones, I think the Sony XM series are one of the best values. I got a refurbished XM4 and have been using it for a couple years now. I did not like the sound of Bose, and found the XM4's shortcomings fixable with EQ and forgivable for its solid noise cancelling and Bluetooth performance. I believe the new XM5 supports LDAC.

Of course my Sennheiser HD600 sounds better than the XM4, but it's a totally different headphone design without noise cancelling.

I have the same experience with the xm5 too so now i only use it once in a while andfor an hour or so. Will try a Bose when it's on sale.

I think $199 is still too much for a refurbished older generation headphone, actually wondering why these headphones are so pricey, compared to a let's say a$1000 MacBook Air, which includes an operating system, a state of the art chip, a lot of other hardware and software.
"Why don't these headphones have as much functionality as this completely different thing that costs five times as much?!"

I do recommend. I voted up.

They are better than Bose 45 (direct competitor), I have both.

I love these
