This seemed like a great deal. Got it local at Lowes for $39 + tax and picked up in less than one hour. It will come in handy as my trees are to the point that I can't prune them any more with manual hand-tools.

Electric all you need for anything you would consider cutting manually with a hand saw.... tree branch, tiny tree....
I have a cordless recuperating saw with a landscaping blade. If I am getting a chainsaw I am renting one from Home Depot because I only use it every five years.

It's not about the size, it's about how you wield it.

I feel like I'd want at least 12 amps though... Maybe 16 inches...

heck I've been considering buying this one for 2 years:

When you add the chain oil for ~$6 it comes out to 45.58, giving you free shipping.

Followed your suggestion and placed the order for free shipping. I ocassionaly need a chainsaw to trim the tree top when hedge trimmer can't do the job.. 14' should be enough for me.
Thanks and repped.

It's your call, but if you've been thinking about getting something that costs $50 for 2 years and haven't bought it, you probably don't really need it.

I've had similar 14" corded electric chainsaw for 7-8 years. Worth owning, capable of felling good sized tree as long as you keep the chain sharp.
Watch the pros, they bring round files with them, and take a minute or two to sharpen blades before the first cut.

Idk I've had a very small need for a chainsaw for years. I'm hesitant on this one due to size and power, but I'm strongly considering electric. Gas is out of the question, and battery likely wouldn't have the power that 120V can achieve. But then I see wimpy ones like this one and wonder.

You can get diamond bits for a dremel and save yourself some time. It's rougher on the chain but time is money and chains are cheap enough.

I had a several years older version of this saw. It took probably 3-4x as long, but it handled the bucking of all branches off a 70' cottonwood.

If you occasionally need a chainsaw for basic tree and brush tasks, it's a hell of deal. It was also light enough to one-hand while pruning a 15' laurel hedge.

Electric chainsaw was good enough to fell two big cedar trees in my back yard. Although I went with a corded Bauer chainsaw from Harbor Freight (14.5 Amp 16in $80 reg price) . Say what you will about corded being troublesome but you can't beat the runtime.
