Here is your typical Home Depot "Hack". This time, purchase a 2.5Ah and 5.0Ah High Output batteries/charger and get a free gift. Just cancel the batteries (or tool) to get the deal. I chose the M12 High Speed ratchet, but you can use any of the tools on this page:

https://www.homedepot.com/b/Featu...sp=vanity-

Again, to perform the "hack", add the tool plus the "free gift" option into your cart. They will both show a discounted price in the cart. Place the order. Either cancel one of the items right away, or return the item you don't want in store.

IMO - save your $110 as it is not worth it unless you are wrenching all day every day and trying to save your wrist/arm from movement (?). I don't get the tight situation advantage considering you can use an extension, but I suppose there are some cases where that may be valuable, but I do not encounter them. And yes, I own this, it is more of a hassle to get it out of the tool box and getting a battery in vs just using a normal ratchet. Plus, it is stupid bulky. Almost comical bulky. Mine barely gets used.
Very sensible comment.

I just got one after eyeing one for years. Worked great on coils and manifold bolts. A lot faster than a reg ratchet. Using the same socket helped obviously but leaning over the fender to get the rear bolts was a breeze using this one handed. Very happy with it.

Well, my usual method of canceling partial orders through Home Depot live chat didn't work. The rep wanted me to return the whole BOGO deal or do a partial refund in which the ratchet becomes $199.99.

I guess it's back to doing the return in-person.
What I'm attempting is to do in store pickup to two locations. Pick one up and cancel or let the other one expire.

You would be correct. It seems like there is a small misconception with the difference in models. The M12 fuel (non high speed) does in fact have a larger head. It is a very noticeable difference which is why people would prefer the non fuel version over the regular fuel ratchet.

However, the M12 Fuel High Speed actually has the same head size as the non fuel ratchet, in fact it actually has a slightly longer profile. Here is a video comparison:

The high speed is definitely the one to get, but they're all good ratchets. Can't go wrong, but these tools are considered nut runners. Break it lose manually and spin it off quickly. I think the bit of extra money is worth it.
Wow. I didn't know about the high-speed version being the same size as the non fuel version. Thanks, this is good to know since I use my non fuel for hours every day at work. I guess it's been a while since I've looked at them. The fuel version I have used before felt much bulkier. So i preferred the non fuel version.

For just a little more there's a version that looks like this with a longer neck.... that is an impact! Would highly recommend the impact version. This one felt to weak to me...

If we add 60 bucks you get a m12 fuel surge 1/4 inch impact, the 🪫 and a charger. This one is not fuel but it's thinner and head has longer reaching meaning you won't need to buy two.
Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

That link didn't work for me on mobile but if you search HD for this it comes up

The impact version is super bulky so you are limited in what you can use it for. But that's not the point of this ratchet having only 35 ft-lbs. You break it free by twisting manually and then turn it on to spin the fastener off quickly.

Cool, I thought so. Thanks for the video, that explains it perfectly. Every one of the threads on these M12 ratchets somebody says the fuel high speed sucks because it's too big. Very common misconception is right!

One of the best uses for it is when you have a lot of bolts to remove. Say you're dropping a transmission pan which is going to have around 13 bolts & most won't have a drain plug on them. Pressing a button after breaking them open is going to save your wrist & a lot of time.
This is my thought process also, and the same is true of my air tools.

If it's a small job, 3-8 bolts with room to work, then manual ratchets work fine and I prefer them. If you have lots of bolts to remove, or a moderate number of long 3"+ bolts, then I break out the air or cordless tools.

The reason being is that powered tools primarily help with your physical endurance (ie..you don't get as tired) when you have a long job ahead of you.

The die grinder you're able to select as well, is also a great deal, IMHO.

Does this work with the two-tools deals?

Is this tool mainly for mechanics? I'm a homeowner and I have a normal steel ratchet set.
You don't need this. It doesn't do anything your ratchet set can't. As others have said, it's just for people who wrench a lot.

So I did this today with a M12 fuel surge driver and ratchet - put the ratchet to another store in the region, went and picked up the driver at my normal store.

No way to cancel online after 45 minutes, so I had to call in and cancel. Aside from waiting on hold for 10 minutes, no problem canceling and I got a cancel email, refund will come in a few days. Just told them I didn't need the tool and the order was sent to the wrong store, the rep did not care just needed to write a reason.

I'm not a mechanic, I hardly do any auto work besides the basic maintenance. And I saw my brother working on my dad's vehicle with one of these, and now I think everyone needs one. It makes removing and installing nuts and bolts A LOT faster especially if you have no clearance.

I can't seem to find the product page for the 2.5/5.0 battery combo that comes with the free gift option. Can anyone provide a link?
