Obligatory "should I get the pro or a Bambu P1S?" comment.

I saw the K1 for under $400 the other day. Probably a better buy than this thing. The 280c hotend is making me uneasy. If it's all-metal, then why doesn't it go up to 300c? If it's not all-metal then how can it be rated for up to 280c?

Otherwise P1S with the AMS for $950 all day. Multicolor printing has been the holy grail of the 3d printing world for years. Kind of silly to pass up on it if you're already shopping in that price range.

Looks quite good for the price, but I would wait until it's out and there are some tests of it. Especially the Pro model looks interesting with the bigger print volume. Competes with a K1 Max.

Looks a lot like a bambu clone. Ive owned 10 printers, (5 creality, 4 prusa, ankermake and Bambu), and the bambu is such a game changer.

If you can afford the extra $200, for sure get it. Unsure of this company.

Nothing more frustrating than a printer that has an issue and cant figure it out. Save the dozens of hours of tweaking, calibrating, fixing, bed leveling etc... and just pay to unlock.

If you absolutly cannot, just know you are risking some of that frustration.

I cut my teeth on a FlashForge, and I can attest that although they fly under the radar, the company makes great first-time 3D printers for anyone wanting to get into the game: The print quality is great, the machines come assembled with everything you need to get going; and they require very little fiddling and maintenance. Mine has been extremely reliable, and now my 12-year-old son has inherited it.

That said, I recently retired my FlashForge for an Elegoo Neptune 3 Max and I'm now enjoying all the fiddling and tuning I never got to do with the Flashforge. If you like to tinker, solder, code and configure (I definitely do!), I can't recommend the Neptune enough, but if you just want to print some cool stuff without having (or being able) to worry about pressure advances, flow rates and resonance tuning, it's hard to go wrong with a FlashForge printer.

I've learned this about myself through 3D printing, that I initially liked the tinkering and learning experience, but it can get in the way of creating.

I want to see some reviews and comparisons, while Flashforge is very reputable and their machines are substantially foolproof they've been having QC issues with their firmwares lately in a push of making their machines faster to compete with bambu.

Source: had 2 adventurer 4 machines that were very non problematic compared with anything creality, last few firmwares have been buggy and caused issues.

This was my thing. I enjoyed printing as a hobby, but didn't do it much. Then I got a bambu from their kickstarter and it turned printing from a hobby to a tool. I didn't realize how much tinkering got in the way of actually just getting something printed and done

I print and am done on my Creality's all the time. Granted often times I get things off the printer the next morning because it isn't running Klipper but I never really need anything right this minute anyways.

Yeah, I'd originally gotten into it years ago with a monoprice mini, then a mini delta. Stuff has come a long way since then. But those were so much fumbling around to get working well that I ended up just not ever printing for years, up until the bambu caught my eye on kickstarter

Yep, 3D printing can support a lot of hobbies (ie, printing cases for electronic projects, making hard-to-find parts for old toys or cars, etc), but it can also be a time-sucking hobby in itself. I enjoy both paths, but there's nothing more frustrating than having to rebuild your printer every time you want to print a simple doodad. At least in my experience, the Flashforge printer was more of an appliance than an exercise.

I started with the Anet A8....I spent more than a little time building and rebuilding 3d printers Stick Out Tongue I learned alot in the process though so time well spent as I can quickly diagnose and fix any issue a printer could have now. My crealities have been very reliable.

I think you'd have to be nuts to be an early adopter on any printer that isn't just a follow up of an established model.
