For the garden I now use those sun joe ones and buy a few spare whenever they are on sale for 2 for $5. So far I have only had one go bad from leaking.

Dramm brass. Lubricate the o-ring before use and once a year thereafter. When it finally leaks in 10 or 15 years, either replace the O-rings yourself, or contact Dramm and they'll probably ship you a couple for free.:
