Any way to make this work with a mini split like Mr cool?
I was able to do it with ecobee. Specifically my LG mini split had something called a 'dry contact' for third party thermostats. Perhaps they have similar tech for other brands to accomplish this. Good luck

True. I've used a few battery powered Z-wave compatible t-stats, but have not found any wifi-connected with a screen that were battery powered or compatible with C-wire kits.
I will say that the current t-stat I'm using (Powerley Z-wave) has been flawless as long I catch the low-battery alert before they go flat. 4 AA last about 8-10 mos.
Never seen this before, but the Honeywell thermostat is way better. Just looking at the screen, this Bosch is just really uninformative. A lot of wasted pixels with no info. The Honeywell shows the current indoor and outdoor temp, plus the target temp, the hold time for the target temp, plus the current time. I used to have a Nest that broke within a year. Then once I saw how good the Honeywell was and how they optimize the screen space to display a ton of information that can be read from a pretty good distance, I went with the Honeywell and have never seen anything better than it. You can also customize the color palette of the screen to match the paint on your wall. Really cool. Even if this one is cheaper, it's not even close to being better.
I been wanting a wifi thermostat for a while. At this price it might be worth trying. And btw, this product has 92 reviews. Of those, 73 are 4 or 5 stars and only 14 are 2 or below. Seems like a pretty good overall rating to me. 🤷🏽

I'm using a Lux Geo now.. it's practically the only one I've found that doesn't require C wire, is Wi-Fi, and would work with my 3 wires. It's not that amazing but gets the job done. I think the OG Nest might work with the sipping of power but I'm not sure. Open to any suggestions if anyone has an alternative!

Most of the functionality on these wifi units is app based. The base model Emerson Sensei is similarly priced and has all of the functionality on the app as the most expensive versions. I installed the fancy ones in the living space zones and the simple one in the garage. They all have the same functionality but only the fancy ones display the extra details and information.
