I was about to snap-order this beast, when I saw that the bed only goes up to 80c?????

Is this some kind of a joke?

A professional printer that can't be used with professional filaments, such as PC, ABS, etc. As far as I'm concerned it's DOA. What were they thinking?

Good point, but I wonder if the bed is just too big to heat at higher temps. They are using 500W just for the bed and can't heat it past 80c. It would probably take at least 1,000W to reach 110c. A lot of consumer grade printers only use 350W total.

It must've been some cost-cutting measure that ended up blowing up in their faces. The mention of the 5-10c difference between areas is also alarming and means it can't actually go above 70c around the edges.

If my Neptune Max can do 100c for $450 then this should've been able to as well since the bed is not that much bigger. I'm actually feeling sad now because the Creality CR-M4 is back in the running.

This printer could've been such an easy slam-dunk for Comgrow, yet they managed to f-it-up.

Good: It's big, it runs Klipper, linear rails, dual Z motors.

Bad: It's a bedslinger, printers in this range can feature core-xy technology. 200mm/s is like best case scenario as the mass of the bed zipping across the Y axis usually becomes the bottleneck for speed/quality. It's not in an enclosure. Bed only heats up to 80c.

If your goal is print BIG things then there could be a market for this printer. Not enclosed and 80c bed temp so it'll be tricky to print filaments that aren't listed in the support materials. For me, the bigger the print the more likely it is it'll warp. Being that this isn't enclosed and variance of 5-10C at the edges of the printbed, I'd like to see how well it can print at the edges of the build plate.

Close competitors: Bambu Labs P1P, Creality K1 Both lack the bed size, but are/can be enclosed. I'd take a look at these if $700 is your budget and the XL bed size isn't a top priority.

Saying that the P1P and the K1 are competitors to this is like saying that a Corvette and a bus are competitors because they both have wheels and cost the same. People are looking at this printer specifically for its size, so it is the top priority.

This printer would do beautifully as a dedicated PETG machine, because PETG doesn't warp and that pathetic max bed temp won't be an issue either. The question is whether it's worth spending this much on a one-trick pony?

I'm going to wait and see what the Neptune 4 Max looks like. I can also imagine Comgrow releasing the T500 Pro in a few months, with the 110c bed and a 350c hotend. They would completely own the large format market with something like this if they keep the price low enough.

Hell, even they upgraded just the bed to 110c and kept the current hotend, it would still make it an instant buy for me at $700.

Stay away from these clowns. Their products often ship missing parts or just outright broken. Customer service is non-existent and done via email to China.

The only CoreXY that competes with the T500 is the RatRig V-Core 3.1 500mm, and it's more than double the price before you factor in the cost of your time to build, troubleshoot, and tune it.
