Very very happy with my asrock z690 steel legend boards. I made the switch from gigabyte and asus.
Edit: I made a typo on the B760 but its actually worse than the Z690 so disregard.
I was going to buy a cpu and mobo combo but now I also think it may not be bad to start replacing one at a time and find deals. Use this board on old intel CPU I have, then few months later change the CPU. Not sure as I don't do this often.

I've never actually built AMD but I'm very interested in the 105W Eco mode the 7000 series offers with minimal performance loss for temp reduction.
I live in California and like to keep the temps down in the summer and the eco mode seems like a nice simple toggle when I need it.
Intel runs too hot out of the box and im tired of having to manually find the best undervolting settings because motherboard manufacturers want to have dick measuring contests at the cost of voltage.
So far the 12th gen runs great, no complaints. Went from a 3800X AM4. The only thing I didn't like about the AMD was the fact that it would thermal spike for no reason. Just sitting there at the desktop it would ramp up the fans and go to 60C+. Eventually just put on a huge water cooler and solved the problem. Don't know if the new AM5 7xxx series has that same issue.
