Not to TC, but this summer I was in Italy and I bought an Italian SIM card there (Vodafone). They gave me a plan with 90GB of data for 10 euros (about 12 dollars). In the US we are SOOO far behind 😫

In US, the 1GB is $4, which is not a bad thing.
The only missing might be voice and txt, which not many people need anymore. I guess w/o a voice plan, you can still dial 911, right? https://instabridge.com/mobile-data/us/

At that point, it's much better to go with MOGO - 3GBs for $6/mo w/30-day validity. Read the OP.

Correct. You'll want to pair it with TextNow or Google Voice for calls and texts.
iMessage will also work - but it will use your Apple ID email address as your identifier.
