I recently bought the Muscle Rack 60" W x 72" H x 24" D 5-Tier Steel Freestanding Garage Shelf. The MDF boards that came with it are surprisingly thin. I haven't assembled it yet, but based on the amount of weight they say it can hold, I expected something thicker. It was inexpensive enough that I may just get plywood and lay use it with the MDF to make it stronger, but we'll see how it goes

Dont buy these, any amount of moistures will warp the MDF boards, buy the all metal type.

I hate the wire racks. The problem I have is that I'm at 6' x 2' and the all metal platforms become pretty scarce at that size. I tried to order one and the shipping cost was more than the unit. That's when I gave up and just bought the Muscle Rack, which I figure it so cheap that buying better boards in the future is still a good buy. I guess time will tell

I heard this same comment before when I bought mine. I have been using these for about two years now. I have several in basement and couple of them on ground floor. Not a single one has warped.

Same here with wire shelves. And a coat of any paint will ensure against moisture warping the boards.
