Oredered the Anandas today. Going to sell my HE560's that are difficult to power. They never had a good working cable when i bought them. Same think with my HE400's.
I do know that Hifiman has improved in the last few years.

These just came in yesterday and I was able to put a few hours but I'm having mixed feelings. I was listening to several songs from one of my favorite albums and in one it would sound incredible, very clear, airy, great imaging, and detailed but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Playing a similar song right after, it would sound thin and "tinny", with poor separation and a lack of detail. Maybe it needs a little more time but never had this experience where one song would sound incredible and another similar song would sound pretty terrible. I also tested these songs with Focal clear pro mg, Sennheiser HD 650/800s, and the same songs sounded perfectly fine.

I'm not a believer when it comes to "break-in" electronics but know speakers with moving parts definitely sound better so might want to take a listen after letting it play overnight.

How does this compares to an Audeze LCD2 (the bamboo version)? I wonder if I will see a lot of improvement. I know this will be lighter for sure but the weight alone doesn't convince me to bite.

I will just be paring it with an ADI-2 DAC FS + apple music

They're very neutral and dac amp will make them rock. There's a write up on these on rtings. Don't miss out on these they're awesome. My 2nd favorite so far.
What's your first favorite? Do you have a dac/amp to recommend?

I bought these last time this was posted around the 17th. Got them yesterday. They sound great! Was using a pair of AKG702 before which I also liked, but these are a step up. They are also extremely comfortable.

My only gripe is that the cord that comes with them is laughably short. My DAC/AMP sits at the rear of my desk behind my monitor. I can't even recline in my chair before I run out of cord. Bought these and waiting on them to show up. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08D8WVHKT

I'm an absolute lunatic, wish me luck... I bought the Ananda stealths from Aliexpress brand new. For several reasons. First off a seller is selling the V3 version of the headphones. I don't know what version amazon/hifiman/etc are going to send.

V3 is a lighter headphone than the V2. The seller is selling them new for about $352. There's an automatic coupon which drives the price down to $342. Then a found a coupon code which takes off another $30 during checkout (US30 is the code). So the total price was $312. Then there's a cashback company that has 8.8% back at aliexpress. Then through all my youtube watching of reviews of the anandas a reviewer (Z reviews) mentions you should upgrade to better ear pads. He recommends Dekoni's Fenestrated sheepskin ear pads. They are stupid expensive, like $80. An Aliexpress seller is selling a "Perforated" (Fenestrated means perforated) sheepskin knockoff earpads for $14 with free shipping. Basically the same earpads. Lets Goooooooooo! Now THAT's how you slickdeal!
Which aliexpress store?

Regular price clearly stated on Amazon page as $549, not $999

Slickdeals posters need to stop inflating the "original" price in their title. It's bad form.

I put in a few more hours and it has improved quite a bit although there are still odd variances between songs here and there. Purely based on the sound for the price, I was impressed. However, I ultimately decided to return them as I'm pretty tough on my headphones and the build quality doesn't look all that great. I'm a fan of the sound signature and for $399, I think its pretty good value, especially for those who use only one pair of headphones. I'll probably try some of their higher end items and other brands that uses planar and see how those turn out.

I'd be reluctant buying from AliExpress since you get no manufacturer's warranty unless it's from an authorized dealer, and Hifiman quality can be a mixed bag from all the stories I've heard.
