just fyi - it sells for 2400 rmb (326 usd) everyday in china. I got mine for 2000 rmb (272 usd) from taobao when it was on sale. And shipping was about 200 rmb (27 usd). Also no tax as its under 800 usd.
Do you still get the full 1-year warranty in the US if you purchase from one of these chinese retailers? Just as long it's an authorized retailer?

Can anyone comment on these vs Sundara? I got sundaras for $240 open box and have been happy with them.
I just got it and compared it to Sundara and hands down Ananda rocks. Listening to NIrvana on FLAC 96 khz high resolution on Tidal. Using Monoblock THX AA headphone amp. Easier to drive then Sundara. Bought in on fleabay $281 shipped including sales tax for a clean used unit in the original box and 2 sets of cables.

BTW - I chose Sundara after comparing it to Monolith M1060 (terrible), Sennheiser HD 560S (close 2nd), HE 5XX decent but too boomy), and HE4XX (bargain).

Well worth the cost as I'm going to sell my Sundara for about $200 minus 15% fee on fleabay.

Decided to give these a try. I've been considering the XS and these, but at this price, they're worth a shot.

My other high end pair are the Focal Clear OG, which I love, but which are a little too heavy for me. (Anything above 400g starts becoming bothersome to me after a bit.) If the Amanda's are good, I may sell the Clears.

Anyone have experience with both the Clear and the Anandas?
No competition the Anandas win hounds down. I'd skip on the clears I personally don't like the sound signature. There's something about planars that I just love.

I need two pairs of open back headphones for video games and movies. Is this suitable with some dac/amp setup? I'm not very knowledgeable about audio stuff but I'm just looking for a neutral sound while being able to hear my surroundings.
They're very neutral and dac amp will make them rock. There's a write up on these on rtings. Don't miss out on these they're awesome. My 2nd favorite so far.

These are open back headphones with lots of sound bleeding, in and out so you can hear everything going on around you and everyone can hear what your listening to.

I am using Spotify. I also have Tidal for another 2 months but I also heard absolute no difference between Spotify and Tidal using the same songs after many hours of going back and forth. I prefer Spotify due to the music discoverability (discover weekly and release radar). I know Spotify has gotten heat for not offering hifi even though they have promised it for past 3 years. If you can tell a difference can you recommend me a specific song and particular timeframe in the song I should pay more attention too?

I am not equalizing either of the headphones during my testing but I have tried it using Equalizer APO and prefer the stock sound.

I have not tried the Ananda or Ananda Stealth.
That is surprising. Maybe it's Tidal (which is not lossless), because Spotify sounded so bad in comparison to Amazon Music that I'll never listen to Spotify again on my good system. Spotify's interface is better and it's solid for BT or in the car, but not serious listening imo.

Pulled the trigger on the refurb, no tax makes it nice. I've been using the Sennheiser HD660S, looking forward to comparing the difference.
Got the refurbs today. Right side is not working. I guess the Hifiman QC issues aren't a myth. These are going back.

After some time to compare with the Sundara Closed backs:

The Sundaras aren't bad, but:
The Anandas are more comfortable for me. Less clamping force and I actually appreciate the gynormous oversized egg cups.
The Anandas have a touch of physical rumble on the low freq side and it really adds a nice bit of extra omph.
The Anandas feel a bit more open, less muffled. Duh, they are open backs. The Sundaras feel like I'm breathing thru a sweater vs open air if that makes sense. You're breathing air either way but the Anandas are a tad more liberating. The Anandas are clearer, less muddy when you're getting hit with a wall of sound and lots of moving pieces.

The Anandas sound a lot like my near 1kw stock system on my Tesla, very clear, very decent, enough sub to not be boring and not wanting me immediately to want "more".

Either way, both sets of cans really need an amp/eq to really shine. Now that I've gone to the dark side of liking my stuff eq'd, I don't see how people can live with the stock sound profile. Way to boring / meh just stock.

I'm an absolute lunatic, wish me luck... I bought the Ananda stealths from Aliexpress brand new. For several reasons. First off a seller is selling the V3 version of the headphones. I don't know what version amazon/hifiman/etc are going to send.

V3 is a lighter headphone than the V2. The seller is selling them new for about $352. There's an automatic coupon which drives the price down to $342. Then a found a coupon code which takes off another $30 during checkout (US30 is the code). So the total price was $312. Then there's a cashback company that has 8.8% back at aliexpress. Then through all my youtube watching of reviews of the anandas a reviewer (Z reviews) mentions you should upgrade to better ear pads. He recommends Dekoni's Fenestrated sheepskin ear pads. They are stupid expensive, like $80. An Aliexpress seller is selling a "Perforated" (Fenestrated means perforated) sheepskin knockoff earpads for $14 with free shipping. Basically the same earpads. Lets Goooooooooo! Now THAT's how you slickdeal! laugh out loud

Don't listen to Zeos.

The stock pads are just fine.

The Anandas are nowhere near a hands down winner vs the clear. If anything the clears are a touch better. for this price though it's a no brainer
