To everyone asking which one is better between XS and Ananda Stealth, I have both.

They are both amazing headphones. Both offer mind blowing Soundstage, clarity and bass (for an open back). Anandas are a little bit more higher frenquency focused and the XS have a little better bass response. Other than that, sound quality is really good on both and you can barely tell the difference. For gaming, the Anandas are superior since they are easier to drive with the ps5 controller (although I use Qudelix amp/dac plugged to the console and it sounds way better.)

The real big difference is comfort and build quality which the Ananda wins by a pretty big margin. I pick up more my Anandas just because of that. Comfort in headphones is something that alot of people take for granted, but using a headphone for 2-6 hours straight, really plays a big role.

At this price, the Anandas are the superior end game headphones for the price. I wouldn't think it twice..

No they are not really that close to HD800s, but nothing in this price range is either. These will be competitive with LCD-2 Classics and the like though and IMO might be the best option today for $400 for new headphones.

I will point out with your review, you clearly prefer sound stage vs other elements. If you prefer an HD600 vs HD800 sound then the clear's are some of the best headphones in the world but they are closed in for sure.

I bought the sundara and a week later ordered the Ananda stealth, both refurbished from hifiman. The sundaras are more warm and fun, also the headband was better on my head oddly. But, the Ananda is staying and I'm returning the sundara. The Ananda is better clarify, soundstage, and instrument separation. They are also great for gaming. Best $350 I've spent on headphones. If you only have $199 you won't regret the sundaras.

I play cod mostly. I use a schitt fulla for an amp. I went through Phillips shp9500, x2hr, and audio technica ath700x before switching to iems. But they hurt my ears so these have as good if not better spatial sound and better clarity.

Which mic do you use? I was looking at replacing my DT990's with the Ananda's and currently just use an older Mod Mic 4. Other then a full desktop mic, is there any better options?

I used a mod mic but switched to a JBL desktop mic and got a boom are to get it out of the way when not in use. Not many options because the Ananda has two 3.5 cord going in. Hifiman makes other models that only use one side like the deva and I think one other.

I'm wondering whether to wait for Annual Audeze B Stock sale, or go for this. I got LCDi4 last year and they are just true gems. The Soundstage is vast, but I'm curious if these will be vastly different. Either U12t or LCD X were my planned buys depending on which way my mood swings come November. Any audiophiles care to help this brother with their preferences for hifiman vs Audeze?

I received the Ananda a few days ago and have tried them out. While the sound is great, there are a couple of issues I'd like to point out:

1. Even though they have high sensitivity, mobile devices can barely drive them still. I have a pair of Hifiman 4XX, and at max volume, the Ananda isn't louder than 4XX, if at all.

2. The clamping force is huge and gives me head and jaw pains. And I only have a medium to large head (size L motorcycle helmet). I had tried stretching the headphones and it did not help much if at all. In order to loosen the headphones, the metal band has to be bent to plastic deformation. The leather head band prevents it from doing so. I do not want to have to do modifications to the head band to make them work.

If there are any suggestions around this price point, with large earcups like these, and less clamping force, please feel free to suggest!

An idea regarding the clamp force would be to put them onto an object that is larger than your head, e.g. your motorbike helmet for a prolonged period of time (a few days? ), and see if they "budge".

I covered that in my post. The leather band prevents the stretching of the metal band.

They probably based it off the hifiman website and not amazon. It shows 999 over there.
