Can I use this as the SIM in my Volvo? Not to use as a hotspot but to use the Sensus apps?

Setup was a nightmare but service has been good once over that massive hump. Except for the time that billing on a line didn't work, and they were casually going to toss my phone number back into the water without warning. I now check my auto-billing every month for every line in my family which is a pain.

On second thought, maybe I should find another provider.

Helium Mobile is unlimited for $5 per month. You're welcome!
Do you happen to have an invite left? The trick to use it outside of Miami doesn't seem to work any more unless you get invited

NVM: I used my foreign credit card and itt works for some reasons

its atrocious.. super degraded on verizon in any major city.. terrible support.. finally left after completely losing service for a week

but the price is low, so the cheapskates will keep falling for it
Have had multiple lines on GSMA and GSMT for years, with only minor issues. Seems the pricing is increasing and deals are diminishing. Hope that there's worthwhile BF/holiday sales this year.

Used it for years on multiple lines, but service went downhill. I was on chats constantly. When the monthly renewal would come up, service would stop. Switched 4 lines to mint 6 months ago and haven't had a single issue.

I had a service with another company - rare occasional wrong number calls used to come to my line.

Then I ported my number to RP - now, everyday I get minimum 3 spam calls, 'wrong number' calls are numerous. I had to install apps to block unknown numbers automatically. So, my guess is, they sell your number!!!

Voicemail box gets reset every-so-often. I have setup my mailbox at least 4 times in the past year. Worst part is I won't get to know if the voicemail box was reset. Callers won't be able to leave voicemail - that's it. The only way I get know about the reset is if I call the voicemail box myself.

Porting a number to them was a pain. Was out of service for 3 days. I used to be able to make calls, but my old phone used to ring for any incoming calls. Their tech support is a joke.

ESim works Ok

Staying because of the annual plan already paid for 😔

Anyone here have the service in comment
Had it for a few years, and it was ok. After the 5G rollout and Red Pocket's purchase of other mvnos, the service tanked for me. Dropped calls and random service disruptions were common. I purchased the annual plan on eBay, but I would sometimes have disconnected service when rolling over to a new month. That leads to finding a way to contact Red Pocket if traveling. Could not use my phone because I had no service. It was not pleasant.

Roll the dice 🎲 if you want to. Some have no complaints, but I did. Good luck.

I think that's more Verizon than RP. Their deprioritization is the worse.

Yeah, that's not bad. I've lost track of its iterations. I originally started on RP with a 5GB plan (2019, $30/mo.), it became the 8GB plan which is now the 10GB plan (currently $15.83/mo).

Now, I have a 1GB and 25GB/web (now 30GB until renewal, had a 20GB/ebay plan) and a $30/yr GSMT plan. All these plan shuffles and web/ebay variations have my head spinning. All I know is that last year's BF/holiday deals seemed fewer and shorter. Fingers crossed for this fall.

I didnt know about helium so thanks for that.
Are you using Helium physical sim ? May I ask what device you are using ? Do they ship the psim if address is not in Miami ?

The list of compatible devices is unclear to me in that whether it is saying Samsung devices are esim compatible on Helium.

Thanks! Just ordered Renewal of the eBay 3gb/5gb plan also on sale for $120 (reg $180) for a family member line that renews in a couple months. Shipping to my "beach house " in Oregon so no sales tax.

I paid $160 sale for 3gb/5gb eBay plan a couple months ago for Renewal of my own line a couple months ago.
I paid the list price of $180 for one line renewal a couple months ago, $120 for the 3gb/5gb plan is way much better.

Not only is Helium limited to Miami currently, it also uses crypto to pay users to share their broadband for other users to connect their phones to, likely in violation of their TOS. They do offer 30GB on T-Mobile as a backup. Honestly, I wouldn't use them as my primary, but it's an interesting business model while the funding is still there.

I've used Red Pocket as a backup and it's generally fine, though support is slow and offshored. Also woth noting that the Verizon network only allows hotspot creation on iPhones, not Android.
Reminds me of the weirdness of Ring Plus. Sign me up...
