Hurry up guys, it won't last long. Then you'll have to wait until next month when it goes on sale for this price again...

I have this. Bought it for this price. Love it. I still find it suspicious that it's going for like 40% off of MSRP less than a year after it was released. Are not enough people paying to upgrade to Dirac so they gotta make it more tempting?

Btw, when I zoom my projector to cinemascope I can no longer see the volume OSD on screen, whether it's on top or bottom. My 2019 Denon had a bigger volume bar for the OSD and I didn't have this problem. I contacted Denon and they responded with boilerplate not helpful advice, so I have have to use the Denon app to change volume when I watch movies. 1st world problems for sure.

I mean, we're not, but I'll never say no to lower prices so that I can afford to buy more s__t.

I apologize for the potential that my comment has to detail the conversation. I am weak and take bait easily.

Wow, great price! Have this receiver, kinda makes me wished I waited but not really haha. I've been enjoying my 5.1.4 Atmos system. Only issue I have with this receiver is switching from one input to another, it loses HDMI handshake it seems. I have to power off the receiver to get the input back on. I should reach out to support about it. Other then that, really nice receiver.

It depends on how much you need the features this offers over the 4500.

Here is a comparison that should help.

I see that this has front r&l, center, surround r&l, surround back r&l, height 1 r&l and height 2 r&l. Will this receiver power all these speakers which would give you 7 channels and 4 Atmos along with whatever amount of subwoofer from 1 to 4?

I hope no one expects miracles from Dirac. It can't do that.

It will power 9 channels internally, you can add two more channels with external amps.

Most people would add a 3 channel amp to power the LCR's and assign the eternal amps to the rest.

Do you need HDMI 2.1 or want to try Dirac? If not, no.

It can do that. You just have to pay extra to add it on. https://support.denon.com/app/ans...4349%20USD.

I think he was referring to the miracles part, not the ability to use Dirac. At least that's my take after listening to the difference Dirac and the like can do. For the price in the link it could be worth it however, the downside is, can you get your money back if you find the difference isn't worth the money? 🤔

I LOVE my 3800, came from a 2014 Marantz model.

It has so much capability in such a small box. The bass shaker support, Auro3D surround upscaling, preouts. It's a perfect receiver.

I am tempted to get this but I need a pre-out for the front speakers. I believe the zone2 pre-out on this model can be configured to be the same as a zone1 pre-out but I am not sure. It can be set to mirror and can have its volume control coupled but I am not sure if there are other problems I might run into.

Does anyone know if this is possible or what problems I might run into?

You can use the "Speaker Connection" setting to disconnect the built-in power circuit of each channel individually and use just your favorite channel as the Preamplifier.
