Server Part Deals[serverpartdeals.com] has Intel DC P4510 PCIe Gen 3.1 X4 TLC U.2 NVMe 2.5in High Endurance Solid State Drives on sale. Shipping is free.
Note that 228(0xE4) is not 0.
Earlier Intel tools cannot reset E4.
If you look up the warranty, you will probably deduct that this batch of SSD is sold some time in 2019. Intel sold its SSD business to Hynix, which makes things a little blurry but this is still obvious.
Be aware these are U.2 format drives, not M.2 cards or SATA drives!!
you can use u.2 drives with cheap m.2 adapters. they speak PCIe NVME

I have over 1pb in my homelab, all ServerPartDeals drives, have been running 24/7 for the last 2 years. Out of the initial batch of drives I purchased from them, 2 were bad, they replaced them, 0 questions. They even sent out the replacement before I sent back the dead drives.
Agree. Great company. And good drives. I bought 4x14TB drives last year and they've been perfect.

I guess Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN640 WUS4BB076D7P3E3 on the same site might be a better option. You will lose the capacity slightly to 7.68TB for the same price but less chance of reset drives.
The price per TB is still relatively high, similar enterprise GEN3 drive from overseas market already dropped under $30 per TB.

I actually have a U.2 port from a Z170 motherboard from 2018. No retail U.2 drives available at the time. Now U.2 SSDs are in, and motherboards which support U.2 are out XD

They're a scam because they sell used stuff as "new".

I have an old x99 motherboard with a server CPU whichhave 1 port for M.2 and for U.2. Currently using it as a gaming rig with rtx 2060. I like having more storage but wonder would it be any better, or the opposite, replacing my WD black gen 3. Just don't want to lose performance switching completely over to the U.2 as a window 10 pro boot.
Mods: Please update post to indicate that these are SAS drives. The average consumer won't be able to drop them into their desktop due to the extra pinout between the data and power connection.
They're correctly listed as U.2. You'll have a bad time trying to run these on an older SAS controller.

It would be a scam if they sell used drives as new. I'm not stating they are doing that.
In the hypothetical situation that they are used, they probably are testing the drives to make sure they work 100% before doing the firmware modifications. For most people, the drives will work just fine for all their needs. For more demanding people, these drives might die earlier than 5 years due to the write limitations. And that's the concern.

But that's all speculation.
