The 3rd generation has:

- 5g and this doesn't
- a bit better battery life
- a better processor

I've unlocked several phones at 60 days - policy changed 11/2021 when Verizon bought all the Tracfone brands. Read official policy, it's posted on their website.

how are the specs compared to an iphone 8 plus? My screen is shattered and battery is like 74% life.

So it looks like this is a good upgrade for me since my iphone 8 won't support ios 17.

I made the mistake of having Tracfone customer service rebrand one I bought back in March. That one shows as a BYOD SIM and did not unlock, even though I used the included SIM. I haven't pursued getting it unlocked yet since the person that owns it will be with Tracfone for the foreseeable future.

Thank you very much. Do you have link to instructions (possibly on a previous thread) on "Can be activated on tracfone website with $10 plan and get unlocked after 60"?

128GB is the only thing I wish I had with my 64GB SE '20. Excellent time to upgrade since the battery life is also a bit meh.
