I thought LaVazza improved after switching to metal pods?

Cheapest I've ever seen any type of original-line Nespresso-compatible pod, but reviews on this one are middling. Anyone here tried these and can comment on whether they're at least 1/3 as good as the Nespresso branded ones?

Can't comment on the flavor coz I really can't tell a big difference among all the pods. But the flow is really slow, like only half of the speed of Nespresso or Starbucks or Peets. I buy these only when I can't find a deal for other pods. And I only buy them when they under 30 cents.

Don't do it. These don't work as it'll only dribble out. I bought a bunch of these last time and was fortunate enough to get a refund.

I have tried these, they are just OK. I would not say "great" but also not "Bad" at all. They do have some base taste and they get the job done, well. Not Bad, but not Great. I agree with prior poster, If there are no deals on L'Or, Peets or S Bucks or Lavazza I buy these. These are good as "filler" because the per unit cost is so cheap.

This brand was actually OK, compared to some others. I am considering buying again at this price, but will see if I can find a different flavor/roast variety from them that I might like better.

I would rank the pods I've tried in this order:
1. Nespresso: A+
2. Starbucks: A+
3. Peet's: A
4. Equine: B+
5. Amazon Fresh: B
4. L'Or: C- (very weak and mostly flavorless)
5. LaVazza: F (cigarette ashes - throw directly in trash)
6. All other brands: not even worth trying based on reviews.

I agree. I know it's very subjective, but I think that LaVazza/aluminum pods have an improved taste.

I think the flavor is good for the price but the coffee flow is inconsistent.

The pods seem to work fine in my newer machine, but will often only extract part of the coffee in my older machine.

Has anyone else experienced this?

It's a bit invalid to put out a ranking without specifying the actual coffee flavors you like, since you may be comparing different intensities or different flavors. Each brand doesn't sell just one type of pod. Nespresso for instance sells some real stinkers (to me) that I wouldn't buy over an Amazon Intense pod, just as an example.

I drink basically only Ristretto or dark intensity (11+), here's my personal list:

1. Nespresso Ristretto - no one really argues Nespresso aren't the best pods, but I like Ristretto and not their even darker ones like Kazaar, they just taste too burnt. I was also disappointed by Napoli, the flavor just wasn't great IMO.

2. Peet's/L'Or Ristretto - people don't actually know it is the same company making these pods. Peet's doesn't make their own pods, and the company that makes both these brands actually considers L'Or the more premium brand AFAIK. If I had to choose between their Ristrettos, I'd take Peet's by a small margin because the L'Or is actually a bit darker and slightly more bitter for my tastes, but they are both right under Nespresso as far as taste/quality to me.

3. Amazon Fresh Intense - as middle of the road as you can get, almost amazingly so. It's not great, or even good really, but not bad, and sometimes super cheap. I'll mix these with other pods that I'm stuck with to make a more drinkable blend.

4. Lavazza - Eh, well, the 12/13 Ristretto intensity I have in the cabinet now but haven't tried yet, hopefully those are better than the 11/13 "Intenso" which is what I've been drinking in both plastic and aluminum pods that is extremely underwhelming. I'll mix an 11/13 Intenso pod with an Amazon Intense to make it more drinkable. Also, I can't tell the difference between the Lavazza plastic and aluminum pods, they taste exactly the same to me. I do prefer the aluminum because they fit more properly in the machine (sometimes the plastic pods annoyingly slip through into the waste basket)

5. There are some other brands that can be decent, but not worth buying since they really aren't cheaper or as good as the above. I don't like the Starbucks pods, although that is more of a taste than quality preference. Cafe La Llave pods taste pretty good, but their pods absolutely flowed terribly in my machine to the point where I felt like it was possibly harming it. Bestpresso made a decent dark pod (Verona I think?) but it's not worth buying IMO unless you get it dirt cheap.

If the new ones are improved, I can't even imagine how bad the original ones tasted!

it looks like 20% discount will be applied if you add 4 of the item. "save 20% when you buy $50 of select item"

Nope, tried that. And tried adding 5 and 6 for good measure, still no 20% off.

I would put Lavazza 4th on the list, just got the delivery last night for the amazon pods and it tastes like ash.
