When HBO was included it was a good deal. Now it doesn't look very attractive for $80 even with $300 discount in gift cards. They just installed fiber in our neighborhood but I don't know anyone who is using their service. Comcast in our area gives 1.2 GIG speed for same 80 dollars.
How did you get it to show the discounted price without having AT&T wireless? Showing full price for me, and fine print says something about credit taking 1-2 billing cycles to apply..
Switched to att a few months back with a 300 dollar gift card code offer. Never received anything. Called to talk to someone in broken English after a few months and they said I didn't redeem it in time. It was supposed to be shipped out automatically or emailed and I never received either. But they informed me it was my fault and not theirs. After an hour on the phone They then offered me 200 - not 300- through 2 50 dollar gift cards and a 100 dollar bill credit. Doing some research there is a lot online of people never receiving. Like the vast majority. It being ran as a scam.
There is also a class action lawsuit in Texas regarding this because people were never paid what they were promised when they switched/ started new services.
Seems the rewards department is probably tracked on how many rewards do not get paid out and how much they save the company.
Most people are too busy (like me) to remember or care. Only reason I called was I saw this deal pop up and it reminded me. And others probably don't want to have to call and deal with arguing with someone who speaks broken English just to get what they were promised. Great deterrent.
Quite the racket att has going with this one. What a shit company.
I work for the company, Fiber doesn't have equipment fees unless you rent the wifi range extenders.
Having signed up over a year ago when they did have an equipment fee, I am unable to "change" my plan to the new one without the equipment fee. Only way would be to cancel and then resubscribe. Confirmed with customer services a few months ago. Unless you're telling me it's something that can be done now?
Wish there was more affordable Internet service. I don't need gig speed. Even 10-20mbps is fine for me. There are very few options in the $20-30 or less bracket
It's called a wi-fi hotspot from your phone. 20GB come included with most plans (even prepaid) but can go up to 50 GB. My family never goes over 100GB/mo streaming video on fiber.
But a lower-tier hotspot will limit streaming video quality. An alternative is to cast your phone to the TV.
Otherwise, AT&T offers free 100mb/s if you qualify through the government (make less than $30K/yr). Hope this helps.

Call and ask to cancel. They're sending you to retentions. They'll switch you over.
THIS IS NOT A LIFETIME OFFER. PRICE DOES NOT CHANGE FOR 12 MONTHS.
But dont we all know that? they said they will notifiy 3 months in advance.
just another BAIT !!!!
Here is the current scam : they will call you after service is started and you received your first gift card asking if you received your second gift card ( you won't get it without calling Att gift card center ) … oh you haven't received it yet .. oh , ok give me you gift card number and we will add the second gift card amount to it . If you give the scammer this info all your gift card money is gone.
Just to add to this. I've done the gift card deal a couple of times and every time I get scam emails that look legit asking for my gift card numbers to give me extra bonuses. I fell for it the first time because I'm a dumbass, called the scammers and got into a shouting match because they were like try getting your money back bitch. Second time I just farked with them a bunch until they stopped answering my calls.
Word of advice: be suspicious after you receive your gift cards. Att's customer list must be hacked or something. Happened to me every single time I took advantage of this deal. Side note: I've gotten the gift cards every time fwiw
BEWARE signing up for AT&T internet service. They have the ability and tendency to cancel your account for "repeated policy violations", won't give you any evidence nor explain, and continue charging you fees thereafter.
