Honestly a pretty solid game. You have the occasional bug but nothing crazy or game breaking.
The enemy AI isn't great but it can still be challenging, especially on NG+. The story is really good and engaging. You can play pretty much however you want - be a good guy, be a bad guy, fight through the story, stealth around to get through the story, talk your way through the story with persuasion, be a space pirate and take over/sell enemy ships, be a cargo runner, be a bounty hunter, etc...
Not really sure what there is to dislike about this game beyond them switching from PS to MS exclusive. Sure it's not the best game ever, but it's good. Hint - playstation people hate this game and parrot the negative stuff they've heard online from content creators...cuz they can't play it.
edit - all that being said, it's much cheaper on gamepass. And you can still mod the gamepass version on PC easily. Messed around with quite a few mods and every one has worked perfectly on gamepass...it's just a different install folder so you have to point things to a different place. Vortex works fine as well.
edit 2 - not sure where the "performance" complaints come from. I have a low-mid range PC and it performs shockingly well at 1440p. 6650xt/ryzen 5 5600. Actually I do know where they come from. See previous playstation comment.

Game needs a lot of work. I have it at a 5.5 out of 10 at this point.
Agreed. There's so much wrong with the game, I think eventually modder might make it worthwhile, but as of right now this game is worth maybe $20. There's so many great games that came out recently and even more coming out in November, so for anyone on a budget skip this game imo.
I'm about 5 days of gameplay into this game at lvl 37.
It is basically fallout in space with added features. The dialogue and NPC behavior is what you'd expect. Your companions continue to get in your way in combat. There are glitches for sure. I've gotten stuck in environments 3 times. Crashes about 6. Ai combat isn't much improved. Really excessive loading for a modern game. Same annoying shop currency that requires you to wait 48 hours to restock. Terrible ui that has you clicking through 100s of items to find something specific. Interstellar navigation is just loading screens from planet to planet. Lock picking gets very old after the 100th pick or so. VERY redundant side missions that includes copy and paste layouts. Constant inventory management. Not great fps considering what's on screen.
It's not all bad. The ship building is pretty impressive and creative people have made some awesome ships. Gunplay is pretty solid, but still Bethesda bullet spongy at equal levels. A good amount of weapons with customization. Same with space suits and helmets. A simplified outpost building system with auto resource gathering and manufacturing. Decently fun space ship combat with abilities to board and capture enemy ships. Interesting and original story missions.
Overall, I'm enjoying it, but if I didn't already have access on gamepass, I'd recommend definitely getting on PC instead of console because of the mod community. They are already fixing tons and I'm jealous that I can't partake.

this is a step back from Skyrim. very disjointed, no sense of exploration. no reason to give a F about much of the story here.
base construction is a waste of time, ship construction is so straight jacketed its also a waste of time.
UI is their usual console-suck. I don't know WTF they've been doing these last 10 years, but it sure as F isn't developing this game.
- someone who tried playing Morrowind first on Xbox.
