They need to stop advertising that the RAM is DDR5-5600. I sent one of the 7700X models back because it was running at 5200mhz. Not only that but it came with 1yr of Lenovo Ultimate Support but it was flagged for generic support. I finally dug up the number for the "Ultimate Support" and had to argue with him because he was clearly not trained on this model and kept saying the Windows CMD "wmic memorychip get speed" is the actual speed it's running at, then he gave up and just said to file a return for it.

Turns out the marketing material and the docs for the AMD Gen 8's were not properly written when they released. The Ram is Samsung DDR5-5600 running at 5200mhz and if they had just allowed manual ram configuration in the BIOS then this would of never been an issue. Also the 4 pipe cooler they use is barely capable of cooling the 7700x, so I'd not expect the 7700 to get too high of a boost clock.

Does that mobo have Bluetooth 5.1?

This is important to note for everyone from the comments on Lenovo's website:

"Lenovo has disabled XMP on this machine which means you will NOT be able to add any additional memory and set the speed more than the default 4800MHz."

"Disingenuous about their ram speed and upgradability. Ram doesn't run at full speed. Bios is super limiting. Can't upgrade ram while remaining in warranty. And no ram is available that is within warranty, meaning there is no upgrade path to 32 GB while remaining in warranty. It's deliberate misrepresentation. It's false advertising. The product page even says you can upgrade."

1tb version for $30 more
You can get a 1TB Gen 3 SSD now a days at that price and sice this is a desktop, you can add that pretty easily. That's the reason I have not selected that model while posting the deal.

It does says 5200mhz if you click on the link. The poster must have copied the info from somewhere else.

The 7700 and 7700X can't run memory faster than 5200mhz so would be weird if they advertise the ram memory at faster speed.

Sure, building it on pcpp is where I got the price comparison from.

For gaming at this price point, a better value might be to go with the 7600 with 6950xt for $1234.

Edit: My bad, I didn't notice that case had gone OOS, so it'd actually be about $50 more than this build as the case is $63. Still, that's a lot more for $50.

I don't see it specified, guessing probably does not. I suppose if that's important to someone, they can pay a little more for one that does.

Yes, the PC in the post has bluetooth. They quoted me posting a requested link to a build I mentioned in a previous comment. I'm pretty sure they were asking me if the mobo I put in the part list I posted also had bluetooth...

Is this a deal atm? It's $150 or so more than you could build similar for.

But more importantly, why would you buy or build something with a 7700 and just 16gb ram, 512gb nvme and a 500w?
That's the whole point. Get someone else to build it, and warranty it. Worth $150.

Fair enough. Can see how it can be misleading.

Yeah, I get the point. I even mentioned somewhere up there that I know not everyone wants to build. But that wasn't my whole point. I mean, "worth $150" is subjective, but it's also not a great setup.

Comparing to DIY cost is still a good measure of value. And you even said you're basically paying base cost +$150 for assembly and warranty. Even if you don't care about RAM speed, storage space, or lower power PSU, paying base part cost +$150 isn't exactly a deal. It's regular retail.

Funny to see my comment on here "Lenovo has disabled XMP on this machine"... I purchased the Legion T5 Gen 8 Desktop with RTX 3060 Ti. I tried working with Lenovo Legion Ultimate support, but they were unable to assist with with upgrading the RAM. I then tried upgrading to the latest BIOS version and made the clock speed even SLOWER...

FYI for anyone that tries to upgrade the RAM on this and can't figure out why the clock speed is locked at 4800MHz... The only alternative I could find was using AMD Ryzen Master which is software based. Be careful with this though, I ended up having to pull the CMOS battery several times while trying to finding a stable clock. I didn't even bother trying to overclock at that point since I thought I was SOL after updating the BIOS...

It really is a deal, hence why it's on the front page of Slickdeals.

Good deal, but that processor is underpowered and will be the bottleneck with that 4070 card.
