Running fanny packs tend to have less space, less pockets, are made of stretchy material. Some have bottle pockets and some are made of water repellent or quick drying material.

The most (common) important quality is that they hug the body so it's not bouncy while youre running.

I've had all kinds of these belts and what really matters is the sizing. It needs to be extremely tight. I would order one size down from what your current size is. So if your waist size is a 34 for example, order the next size down for these types of belts. When you put stuff like your phone in these belts to run, it will pull down on the belt. If it's not tight enough the weight of the phone pulls these run belts down.

Not the same at all. As was previously explained, a fanny pack and run belt are made very differently with very different purposes. Run belts are pretty much just big enough to hold a phone and maybe headphones tightly to your body.

As an avid runner, this seems WAY to thick and bulky to be useful for running. You'd beat yourself to death with your own stuff.
