I used it every day and the ceramic coating flakes off the inside of the mug. Technically it's safe but the cup looks awful inside and something about knowing the ceramic continues to flake off in my drink bothered me.
I stopped using mine and got a dumb version of a electric warming mug from Walmart for $40 and it has lasted me over 2+ years with no paint or coating flaking. The inside looks a little scratched up but that's to be expected. No flaking off substance though.
I would not recommend this unless you really need Bluetooth and app connection
Feel free to look up ember mub flaking you'll see it's super common. At least it was on the Ember 2 mug I had, not sure they've fixed it in newer models.

But here it is a couple years later and I've been using it pretty much daily — it's right in front of me on its charging caddy right now. Whenever I'm away, I'm mildly annoyed when my coffee cools off too fast and then I realize it's because the cup wasn't keeping it warm. And I don't remember the last time I opened the app.

I saw one of these in Goodwill for $20 this week. I passed. I mean... wtf?
BTW, you are not a true SD'er unless you frequent GW.
In one line "It's ok, but absolutely not worth $100+ and not really even worth $30+ for the way I drink coffee. In fact I barely use mine."
There's really two things that go into why I barely use mine and why I think it's totally not worth it.
1. 10 oz is way too small for something designed to "keep your drink hot" because I'm not a super slow drinker. For 10oz of coffee, I have absolutely no need to keep it warm because I drink it all before it goes cold most of the time. Even if I try to take my time, I finish it before it goes cold. But I'll admit on the few occasions where I get distracted and forget I have coffee left, it's VERY nice to be like "ooh it's still nicely hot!"
2. It's flakey. Constantly disconnects from app. Sometimes decides to keep my drink nice and toasty (and it's FANTASTIC when it does and I'm distracted by something and realize I still have coffee later), but many times my coffee is lukewarm and stays lukewarm even though the cup is on and has power.
My advice is to pass on this unless you are someone who drinks coffee slowly (or gets distracted and forgets to drink their coffee for long periods) OR if you can get a larger version.
And I don't doubt that.
So let me try and explain how I used it and maybe that led to its demise.
I drink mainly chai which is milk heavy, and even when I have coffee it has some milk or half and half.
I think what caused the flaking is that I would sip on my drink throughout the day and eventually there would come a time where there isn't a lot left but I wouldn't chug the last sip because closer to the heating element it was hot. And unless I remembered to turn off the heat sometimes I would leave the mug for maybe an hour or more still on the charger so it was still heating.
The result was baked on milk solids where hard to clean and required a little elbow grease.
Now I don't doubt that if you were to mainly drink black coffee or tea only that yes you could use this and never have it flake because you can just wipe it clean with water and some soap.
My gripe is that exactly though, using it with milk products is a fair assumption for something meant to be used with coffee and the mug isn't dishwasher safe. So has to always be hand washed so yeah some people are going accidentally over time scratch the surface finish.
If anyone wants the mug go for it. I have just been much happier with an alternative.
