These suck and go bad in a few months if you actually use them every day.

I used it every day and the ceramic coating flakes off the inside of the mug. Technically it's safe but the cup looks awful inside and something about knowing the ceramic continues to flake off in my drink bothered me.

I stopped using mine and got a dumb version of a electric warming mug from Walmart for $40 and it has lasted me over 2+ years with no paint or coating flaking. The inside looks a little scratched up but that's to be expected. No flaking off substance though.

I would not recommend this unless you really need Bluetooth and app connection

Feel free to look up ember mub flaking you'll see it's super common. At least it was on the Ember 2 mug I had, not sure they've fixed it in newer models.

Mine lasted about two years of daily use before it started flaking. Threw it in the trash. Wouldn't but it again for full retail, especially considering the MSRP price increase.

I wanted to like the ember mug but it's hottest temperature just doesn't keep the coffee hot enough for me. I'm sure it's a safety thing or something but back to insulated coffee mugs.

Not the same thing. Instead of worrying about how other ppl enjoy their coffee and spend their own money, just worry about yourself.
Why so defensive? I was considering this item, until there was an obvious outside the box solution for this minimal concern. Let's practice more civility...

I use a Zojirushi thermos $22, it keeps the piping burning hot temperature exactly I have it in the AM even until bedtime, and still warm NEXT DAY stored inside the the fridge! Just sharing an alternative for people looking at different options

How do you see the price? Target doesn't seem to show a price for me.

Obviously this is subjective, but we have two of these used for hours a day every day with no flaming or other issues. The only complaint is the app is terrible.

I never understood this product. I finish my coffee while it's still hot.

Why not just use a tumbler that can keep temp for like 12 hours?
Why drink coffee that's brewed 1+ hour ago?

It's for people who like to slow sip and enjoy.

I love coffee but I chug once it starts getting cold. I'd rather just enjoy it for however long I want st the temperature I want.

You can check Target website if it's in stock at your store. If it says 1 in stock, that typically means (from personal experience) there are 2 available at store.
Thanks for this! Was OOS at my closest store, but the next closest one had "1" in stock.

One left in Rose Gold at $89, but there was one White 14oz marked $75, so I went ahead and picked that up!! Cheaper than I could find "new" on Mercari, etc. Thanks!

I don't know what this does that a zojirushi or even a Contigo doesn't already do

As a user of Ember mugs for a couple years, here are the 3 things that stand out in my mind:
1. The Android app is terrible -- it disconnects regularly. It's better than it was a couple years ago, but still lousy, IMO.
2. Use a silicone spoon when stirring your drink in this mug. I used a normal metal spoon on my first mug and the bottom coating starting coming off after about a year of daily use. Ember replaced it for free, even though it was just out of warranty, but using a silicone spoon should help prevent that from happening (fingers crossed).
3. Yes, get the 14 oz. mug instead of the 12 oz. mug. I've never measured, but I had to return the 12 oz. mug because it didn't hold as much liquid as my normal coffee mug.

As for why to get this mug? If you work from home and have to "attend" a lot of Zoom/online meetings, this mug lets you not have to worry about warming up your drink while meetings are going on.
