Old school thinking. Modern suits of Polyester are fine for most occasions. Sure, a high end wool will be better, but not to the extend presented here. For the cost, this will do just fine for occasional wear. Daily, invest a little more. But there is more in these than just "grandma died".

Even with the synthetic materials and low class notch lapel, you'll look a million times better in this tux, properly altered, than anything from rental. And your next wear will be free!

None of these are fairly good. These are sub $100 polyester suits. These are good for kids or the "Oh shit, grandma died yesterday and I don't have a suit" moments where your bank account sucks.

Any suit that is fairly good will retail, on sale for at least $300 and be 100% wool and that would be a bottom tier suit at that price point.
Agreed on avoiding poly suits, but decent ~$100-150 wool suits can be had, the deals are just harder to come by (although maybe not a fully canvassed suit, etc)

If you really need $100 suits, go raid Goodwill where older people live. Get something classic and wool. Find the good tailor in your area (not anybody that really doesn't do menswear) and get it fitted. You'll have a much more durable suit for about the same amount of money.
I'd be careful, a lot of what you'll find at Goodwill etc in terms of suits or more formal attire is horribly outdated. Tailoring a boxy double-breasted peak lapel suit will just look silly.

I've picked up a few $125-$175 (before tailored) suits from Jos A Bank recently!

This will work great for my Halloween Pee-wee Herman costume.
The size are the chest sizes. And from there, the pants are a drop 6. Example: 42/36

Where I live the good tailor alone will charge north of $100 to alter a classic suit.

Do you know which ones are fairly good?
Especially if they are stretchy and are not easily get wrinkles?
Visit your local Macy's or Kolh's

Fit and finish is all over the place.

INC is good quality for a poly blazer, their fit is muscular/silm. $20-40. I have 2 of their blazers for 5 years, it still looks new.

Kenneth Cole is weird half the time, horrible slim fit boxy, laughable quality . I return 2 of there suits.

Van Heusen/IZOD/ Nautica is ok

Goodwill is picked through by eBay and other online resellers and has significantly raised their prices. It's no longer the place to find gems unless you're able to go in the middle of the work week when the store opens.

Wear a wool suit with any modicum of quality and go back to a Polyester suit... it doesn't feel or look the same at all. Doesn't breathe the same. Doesn't lay the same. A decent suit from Charles Thyrwhitt can be had on sale for $300 and be full wool and have working cuffs.

These types of suits are serviceable, but nothing more. I have several of them sitting in my closet (from my Express and Macy's suit days) that I should just get rid of.

Where are the pants options?
Every single time they post this, pants are 6-7" drop, which is nonsense honestly. It's weight discrimination I tell you! So I wonder if you can buy 2 pairs and return the mix of pant and jacket, because in store they don't mind if you buy different sizes they are sold as set but seperately. (not every suit)

Bought the nautica since I need an emergency black suit. I bought a haggar suit separates full suit recently from jcpenny and the jacket was OK but the pants were too wide in pant leg area. Hopefully this nautica fits well and won't need altering

A well fitting cheap suit looks better than an expensive fitting expensive suit. If you hardly ever wear suits and you can take these off the rack or cheaply tailored to fit well - then power to you and ignore the snarky comments.
