I actually called in to cancel my mobile service because it would not let me do it online and they could not successfully port any numbers I was trying to bring after 3 weeks. They cancelled my INTERNET, and left my mobile active, even after I specifically said "I want to be clear, I do NOT want to cancel my internet services." and verbally confirmed that with them twice. It was an absolute joke.

Now there are other options that are bit more budget friendly and you can look those up on travel blogs and whatnot. I personally just accepted that my phone is locked for 2 years and have an unlocked phone as back-up if I do travel internationally. I am also ok with using mostly wifi when at the hotel etc.
I'm not bashing on esims, it's a great but awful to make devices esim only. At&t already makes a whole ordeal to switch devices when you're using esims (forcing you to call them to obtain a new QR code) to me that sounds like the Sprint days when CDMA devices needed your IMEI in order to register in their network. Instead of just transferring physical sim card from one device to another
Just putting this out there. Do with it what you will.
Sure CS is bad if you have issues, but it has always worked out for me. Just requires a little patience.
Question for anyone who is knowledgeable. On a couple of my lines I wouldn't mind upgrading to iphone 15 and 15 pro. Is my best bet to pay them off, port out the number then port back in and trade in to maximize the discounts? Any flaw with that plan.
I can't just add new lines as I am already maxed out at 10.

iphones sell on ebay instantly if you price them right. its a hassle, but it saves a ton of cash.
No way is $10 a day worth it. Other option is to turn off data and use wifi and pay by the mb if its an emergency like you need to cancel a reservation or get a map.
