Enough iphone 15 will be available in US, Chinese not buying due to Mate X5 and Mate 60 pro. No wonder pro price kept at $999 instead $1199. Just wait a little many offers will come.

I cannot stress this enough. This is not worth it. Their customer service is *abysmal*. If you have ANY issues, be prepared for weeks of calls talking to people who speak words, but don't understand anything you're saying.

I actually called in to cancel my mobile service because it would not let me do it online and they could not successfully port any numbers I was trying to bring after 3 weeks. They cancelled my INTERNET, and left my mobile active, even after I specifically said "I want to be clear, I do NOT want to cancel my internet services." and verbally confirmed that with them twice. It was an absolute joke.

Most likely it will be same as apple, you'll need iphone 14 pro max 1tb to get full $830 back else get $100-$200 back

I asked this question earlier in the thread but am going to ask it again but differently as we most likely won't be trading in to get the Iphone 15. Anyway my teenage daughter has an Iphone 12 on XM that is paid in full. Being that it's paid in full is it automatically unlocked or do we need to have them unlock it for us?

She is going on a school trip to France in February for 9 days or so and it looks like it'll cost $10 per day to have her use XM while there (int'l roaming I guess). I believe her Iphone 12 has a sim card slot (not esim) and see you guys post about just popping another sim in when traveling internationally as it's way cheaper. I guess this might for my for daughter when she travels to France? I assume you still need to find a carrier over there for service and use their Sim card in your phone correct? I guess it all depends on how much that service would cost for those 9 days she's in France.

Does this sound right? Maybe this would be too much for a teenager to deal with while in France and it would just be easier to pay the $10 extortion (I mean roaming fee) per day with XM?

Any advice on our situation would be greatly appreciatedSmilie
Here are my unlock experiences on paid off phone:
1. "No sim restriction" showed on phone means nothing ( I have that on my locked iPhone 14 currently ).

2. Have to call to unlock the sim, and eSim(!!! different IMEI).

3. When I called first time, only physical sim was unlocked. It took me a while to realize the eSim has different IMEI and did not unlocked. I had to educate the representative to unlock the eSim.

4. To learn how to use eSim, I bought 1gb data/$3.90 for USA. I used Redteago app, got $4 credit when enter prom code LIN10001 . This trial was FREE.

5. You can buy eSim package in advance before travel and
activate it within 30 day.

My teenage daughter went to France decades ago on a school trip, prior to the mobile phone thing, yes I am old. I don't recall all the details but it was extremely expensive for her to call out, and difficult to have us accept the charges when she could call. The kids split up and went to separate families to spend time and were basically on their own for several days. It was difficult, not knowing in between.

It appears you have several options from all the feedback in this thread, and I know it is not in the spirit of Slick Deals, but if I understand correctly, you can spend $10/day to have her normal XM connectivity while she is there for around 9 days or so, and all works normal?

Again, I am old, lol, peace of mind, $90+ well spent, save the bucks elsewhere. Just my two cents

iMessage runs on data/wifi so she can text you if you have iPhone as well -- otherwise if you both install WhatsApp then you can call/text using WhatsApp over data/wifi

Regular wifi calling may not work from overseas (hit or miss) so might not be able to call/text without paying for international usage:
https://forums.xfinity.com/conver...3af9dfbb9a

If she needs regular calls/texts then just pay $10/day on the days she needs it -- if she can get by on alternatives (WhatsApp) using data/wifi then go that route for some of the days

Its a one-time short trip so don't overthink it -- let her enjoy vs trying to slickdeal it if its too much hassle
I really appreciate all the posts from you and others here laying out options for using XM which in France. At this point the easiest move is to to just pay the $10 per day charge. It does look like for that $10 you get 512MB of 4g LTE data per 24 hour period and the speeds drop to 2G if you exhaust those 512MB's during a 24 hour period at which time you get a new bucket of 512MB for the following 24 hours. It does say that even though you are paying the $10/day fee any data used still counts against you if you are on a pay by the gig plan (which we are). We have (4) lines all on by the gig and we normally stay under that one gig every month (almost always on wifi). I guess I'll have to either boost our total usage up for all 4 lines that month or just put my daughter's line on unlimited for that month.

Again the the cheapest, most SD way of doing this but probably the easiest and most stress free way of handling things. I want my kid to remember this as a great trip not one where dad was too cheap to spring for data plan, lol.

Use this as a life lesson opportunity to train her to figure things out. Give the savings to her as rewards.

Pocket Wifi is a great alterative, and they allow multiple connections, so you can easily split this with a group. 512MB a day isn't much, so you'll have to rely a lot on Hotel wifi, and 2G throttle speed will be hell to use.

I think the way is that the main carrier phone is always working when using their MVNO sim, but not the reverse way. For example, you can use metro by Tmo sim with Tmo phone, but not Tmo sim with Metro phone.

I got the promo code in Xfinity rewards too. I used that code to place order with the help of customer rep and got the iPhone 15 pro for $7.08 per month WITHOUT trade in on 27th. But, I got a order cancellation email within minutes. Since then I am trying to get customer service help to activate that code again and the customer service is insane. Anybody have similar issue? I am just tired!!!

My iPhone 11 was delivered on 09/27 as well, but the website still says to ship my trade-in phone. Need to contact CS Monday to see why my account isn't updated yet.

This is normal, I didn't get any updates until the credits was approved. My last promo was delivered on Aug 5, approved on Aug 15.
