Prob why apple won't sell them directly. Somebody intercepted the rejects?
M1 iPad Pro was discontinued in October 2022, assuming that's also when production stopped, any new M1 iPad sold today would most likely have a completely discharged battery.
Is it still possible to figure out the manufacture date based on the serial number?
Update: I've been using it for a couple days now, everyday I've been able to get around 10 hours of screen on time. Upgrading from a 6th gen vanilla iPad, this iPad with the M1 chip and mini LED display is amazing to use.

EDIT: It was the 11" iPad Pro 2TB. The 12.9" was $999
