Word of caution. My company deployed about 15 of these and they all had weird docking issues. We ended up having to replace them early.

They just released a BIOS update that really messed up my Gen 1 Nano and I returned it. FYI- These are still pretty buggy. Even with the pin restart the power button flashes and the computer will not shut down. In addition, I was forced to do the bios update since the battery was not charging with the recent Windows updates. It's a good deal although just be aware that these are going through some software hurdles.

You forgot to include the link to a 2-pound laptop with RAM slots at this price.

Except if we are talking about in the category of superlight laptops, most people's use case would not require much gpu anyways.
having some gaming capability without a bulky dGPU and the added headaches can be pretty nice. theres new models like the flow X13 that are similar sized.

Last time I checked, the X13 is not less than 2.2 lbs. Not even close.

And please read the entire thread again. I am not advocating the need for upgradeable memory or not. Someone alluded that you are not going to find a light laptop with upgradeable memory and I just pointed out it can be done and gave an example.

How does this compare the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 13 inch 512GB 16GB i7 12th, in terms of portability and performance? I don't plan to use the spen etc.

I know Samsung isn't know for laptops but I may consider this if additional $150 is worth returning my Galaxy Book pro and getting this?
Are you saying you got a book2 pro 360 for $450? Where?

Oh it was an open box from BB. Had its warranty extended by Samsung for a year starting from the purchase date.

Btw. These GBP 2 360 in 13 and 15 inches have been on and off for $500-$600 on Slickdeals in the past few months. So nothing new.

I follow these religiously. I have seen the book2 360 in that price range but never heard of book2 PRO 360 under 500. Was it 8gb or 16gb?

One I got was 16GB 12th i7 512gb in silver. Think it was satisfactory for $440 or something.

This is what I bought.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sams...Id=6501579

It was very YMMV as only a few stores had them in stock.

Also there was an 15 inch version (1tb) at $600 not top long ago.

Anyway, what's your view between the 13inch book pro 2 360 vs this lenovo?

First it depends on if you want/need a 2 in 1.

Otherwise, Lenovo "should" have better build quality. I know samsung book2 series (and even book1) has been plagued with cracked screens but I don't know which models. I think the book1 pro 360 was definitely affected and I know it was also described in book2 non-pro 360 as well. However the complaints listed by users above about bios, software issues, and usb port issues etc for this Lenovo are certainly concerning.

I have been searching for the perfect laptop for over a year now and everytime I thought I found it, I see multiple complaints about it. I use to think the Book2 360 (non-pro) was my perfect laptop but the cracked screens and lack of 16:10 screen has made me back off on it. I think I really want my next laptop to have a 16:10 screen.

yea but theyre both 13" screens so people like the portability. im just providing another viewpoint that soldered RAM isnt always bad and can give 30-50% boost in games its not a small difference

If you are only seeing this laptop as just another typical portable 13" laptop, then you are not seeing its value and why it's so expensive for what it is. It is because it is around 2 lbs. Other 13" laptops are usually 2.8 to 3.3 lbs. If you don't think it's that big of a difference or why that's important for travelers, then you are looking at the wrong thread. Gaming should not even be a consideration in 2 lb laptops.

Are you and electrobento the same person? Or do you both work for the same company? Or do you have multiple accounts? Or there are multiple companies that deployed 15 of these and experienced weird docking issues?

Are we living in a multiverse?

Again, you want a link, I gave you a link. At least I have not heard about usb-c issues or bios issues with it (and I have read up on it extensively). XPG is not a no name BTW. They are from Adata who makes memory chips, most people who have upgraded their machines have heard of them.
Not trying to pick an argument with you, but you wanted a link so I gave you a link. It can be done, but big companies don't want to do it for cost and profit reasons. How about just admit that you were wrong, but prefer this ThinkPad over that one instead of just dismissing it. Let me guess, Gen Z?
I'll jump in here as an owner of an XPG Xenia. For the $ it's a pound for pound champ. No pun intended. It has dual m2 slots, one 4x one 3x. upgradable ram, thunderbolt 4 and a gorgeous screen. The person who recommended this should be paid attention. They know what they're talking about.

I was the one who brought up this laptop to show that you can have expandable memory on a light laptop. I have a question for you as an owner. Everyone keeps pointing to the 1 review that talks about the flimsy feel of the screen hinge and how it bounces when you are typing or moving it. Is it as bad as they say? Also, is there significant screen flex which I see in other magnesium alloy laptops?

This is a fantastic deal for the specs on this laptop. I had actually bought the Asus 14X that is a 14.5" OLED 16GB model that went on sale at Best Buy a few weeks ago. The only difference to me is the OLED panel, battery being larger. The Asus has a slight disadvantage because of the touchscreen panel affecting the screen resolution. I would consider this Lenovo a better fit and finish build with the materials. I wanted OLED but this Lenovo deal would be really great. The big plus is resolution and Lenovo's keyboards are always so much better than most other laptops.
