The fine print says minimum qualified plan is 75/mo. That's where they get you with these "free deals" - locking you in at high monthly rate for 3 yrs.

Quick math assuming you are ok with Visible/Mint at $30/mo - overpaying by $45/mo for 36=$1620, that's what you are paying for the "free iphone".

If you live in an area which has good coverage then better buy an unlocked phone and get a carrier of your choice than getting robbed by these guys for 36 months.
I have an unlocked phone & pay $20 per month for service. Can't be happier.

Yes. I'm on Simple Choice Promo and have 6 lines for $120/mo. These new plans are so incredibly expensive there's not even a thought to move to something else. It makes more sense to buy the phones outright on the apple card, get 24mo 0% and 3% cashback. Then I can still sell my current phones privately, and I'm not tied down.

Am I getting a good deal, 5 lines unlimited data, plus 50g Hotspot, HBO max , home fiber internet unlimited, no early turn in though. For $275 per month after taxes. Not sure if it is worth my time to.chase down a different deal

Yeah I'm one of those on simple choice. Paying $100 (50+30+10+10) for 4 lines and then got 2 more free line couple years ago during promotion LOL. The 4 lines got upgraded to unlimited data last year, supposedly the 2 free lines don't have unlimited data, not sure. Anyway I'm not leaving simple choice for any phone deal... Well maybe if they give me 4 free iPhone, a big may be, I will have to do some math LOL

Sure, go to mint or visible and have worse coverage. You may not need great coverage and the cheap plans are fine for that. Verizon/ATT are going to be consistent for coverage when you might need it though

Does this mean you have to do both offers (and not one or the other) even if you only want to upgrade a line, not trade in any phone, and just get the 100 costco cash card plus 50 credit for upgrading?

If that's the case and in addition to getting locked in a plan for 3 years, then trading in a phone unless it's quite makes it a double whammy.

It looks like the $50 bill credit for upgrading is no longer available. They are still offering the $100 Costco card though.

UPDATE: Shows for me during checkout but not on the offer page for the phone.

Ridiculous deal, as in ridiciously not good. Cheapest plan is $60 a month, Visible is $25, that's a $35 difference x 36 months you are locked in = $1,260 difference in service fees so you are getting NOTHING for your trade in. Zero, Zilch, Nada

looking to purchase a s20 plus locally and its unlocked . Will trade this is in, do i trade it in at costco or is it mailed in? Would it be better to just goto att store to do this?



If I decide to buy one off amazon do i need to have IMEI at hand during the trade in / signing contract at costco?

All would recommend taking trading in to ATT corp store, even if the order says to mail it.
You don't need IMEI through out the process.

I tried adding 4 new lines to see pricing and discounts. I only see $140 Costco Shop card. Shouldn't it be $400 Shop card for adding 4 new lines?
