Latest scam nowadays even with sealed phones on FB, craigslist or Offerup is where folks sell real phones that are not blacklisted and with clean IMEIs. Problem is a few months down the road the phone gets remotely locked by Samsung because these sellers never sent in their trade in phones as originally promised and the original form of payment they used is conveniently no longer working. At this point, there's no recourse for the buyers that are stuck with just paper weights.

This is becoming so prevalent and widespread that I believe it won't be long before Samsung revamps their trade in policy subsequently addressing this issue and effing it up for the rest of us..

S22 ultra 256GB has 12GB ram.
S23 ultra 256GB has 8GB ram.
S23 ultra 512GbB has 12GB ram.

His earlier trade in (without the ram upgrade) downsized ram. This deal matches ram with bigger storage. Honestly, I think this deal is great for someone who has s22 ultra 128gb. Mine is s22 ultra 256gb so I am still on the fence, considering mine still runs like new, look like new and there is no much difference between 22/23.

Crazy how there's been nothing good to upgrade from base S22 to base S23 this year. I prefer the smaller form factor so been keeping an eye out for S22 -> S23 (non ultra) trade in but there's been no good options available. It's about $600 after trade in right now.

Personally, I think it is worth it. The new phone has pretty impressive battery life. I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy almost every year or so with Samsung's trade-in program for the past 4 or 5 years. S22U is also a solid phone. However, S23U will certainly have a higher trade-in value compared to S22U in the future (may be $200 -$300 higher trade-in value).

threw the dice and ordered. I had 128gb s22 ultra. Needed the battery life improvement on s23 ultra. total breakdown came to 1379(retail) - 180(promotional) - 900(trade in) -15(student discount) - 25(first time store purchase) = 259 + tax =344. Hope it was a good deal

You're on Slickdeals. You think people here paid $1k? I traded a base S20 for my S22+, which was $0 plus a $250 gift card at Best Buy last year.

Before that, i traded in an S10 for the S20 and it was only about $50 out of pocket. A lot of people are just rolling year to year with promos.

Just like someone commented above there really isn't any reason to upgrade phones if you have the S22 Ultra 5G which is my case. $376 shipped after taxes here in CA and with the S22 Ultra 5G trade in. Only difference between the two is a slightly faster processor and more megapixels, not with the almost $400 in my opinion.

For me, the bigger perk would be better battery life. S22U out the box wasn't so good, and in less than a year, it has gotten worse

Also, at about $300 for this 23U, we might be adding some trade in value for S24U with possible breakthrough enhancements. S22U might start losing substantial value in trade in then

My first samsung was the note 8 after the note 6 or 7 battery fiasco. It was a great phone but the biggest flaw is the samsung apps vs native android ones for example bixby and the bixby button on the 8. So I decided to try oneplus which had issues but was also a great phone.

I recently got back with samsun on an s22 ultra and absolutely hate it. I have wifi 6 issues that makes the phone unbearable on wifi. I also ran back into samsung vs android apps. The battery life is terrible and I have cellular issues but that may just be t-mobile. All said and done my next phone will be a pixel and if that doesn't work I'll go back to apple since I left them after the 6. Unbelievable that they can't make an android that just works.

yeah the battery life on s22 ultra isn't great. i just upgraded. hopefully it's better on this from what i heard.
