Comparing the 8.5" plates that I use to the Amazon price, Corelle's website with the 50% off is still more expensive and I'd still have to pay for shipping.
Amazon's price: $20.54 (6x pack)
Corelle's price: $21.00 (6x plates) + 6.99 shipping

$17.85 after coupon at Corelle. The ones with graphics/designs are significantly more on Amazon.
that's a good thing. You don't want large broken pieces of glass.
I disagree with that. When Corelle breaks, it still leaves some larger pieces so it's not like a safe tempered glass window that shattered. After having some recent accidents with Corelle breaking into a million pieces and spending forever trying to clean it up, we decided to get rid of all of our Corelle (we have over 50 plates/bowls). It's just not worth it and we have never had one survive a fall from the counter on to ceramic tile.

So it's metal and plastic for your family moving forward?
Set of 12 . Bowls, square large and small plates $155. We have 3 sets of round mixed Corelle. Never used anything else for the past 20 years. Love the design, quality of porcelain. Always clean up nice, hand washing or dishwasher. No scratches, except the broken ones 😁.

Wtf are you talking about? For clean up, glass that shatters into splinters is a f—kin pita to clean up. Not to mention the 💩 left behind you missed because you can't see it. Then your stepping on glass.

Guys, check your item model on Walmart it comes out same price as on Corelle site adding 50% off & shipping. Unless you buy $99 & get free shipping to make a great deal.

Looks the same but Ikea isn't the same material. I've owned the Ikea ones before and they're more susceptible breaking and chipping.
I own both. I would say they look and feel the same and have the same property. Even if Ikea material is inferior, we are talking about One Forth of the price here. I can afford to break a couple.
I think microwave safe only means it will not break in the microwave. I think it will still heat up.
My Corelle glass plates get warm in the microwave but not super hot.
No, if you just microwave a plate it will not get hot. Some plates have small air bubbles in the material and those get hot af, I'm guessing that's what you experienced.
One thing I hate about Corelle is when you drop them, they shatter into tiny shards of glass.
True, however in my experience they are very durable. I've broken one piece of Corelle in the last decade. Wine glasses... I've broken enough to host a wedding

I have this fancy, newfangled invention called a VACUUM! It sucks up all the little broken pieces.

When I got married we got much "nicer" plates from Crate & Barrel.. and a bunch of them are already chipped after 5 years.
