Excellent story. Have gone through it twice via theAudible book. [audible.com] Last I heard Phil Lord, Christopher Miller (directing) Ryan Gosling (starring) were attached.
I listened to this book on audible with my 13 year old daughter and we were both inseparable until we finished. Great story and even more great bonding experience with my teen.
When they make the movie, Gillian Anderson needs to play Stratt❤️

Good book and interesting story...not sure how great of a movie it will make? There is so much non-verbal communication between the main characters (sorry for spoilers).

Got to remember that The Martian had what felt like a whole chapter dedicated to growing potatoes on Mars. And was simply a 10 second afterthought on the movie.

I'm sure it will be summarized very quickly in how the dialogue is cracked.

Bought this at full price when it first came out. Great book!

Andy Weir has came a long way as an author from The Egg, and The Martian.

It's an ok book. Reads like it was written specifically for screenplay adaptation though, which may irk some book lovers. I enjoyed the martian much more, partly because of this.

I'm going to be in the minority here but wasn't impressed by this book. The bar was definitely set too high by The Martian, which was one of the most entertaining books I've ever read.

Project Hail Mary's story was interesting enough, but the presentation felt too much of a desperate attempt to repeat the magic of The Martian. Weir should have tried a new storytelling approach, but instead decided to lean even further into the exact same ode-to-his-own-pseudo-science-knowledge formula that was already a bit heavy-handedly applied in his prior work.

The audiobook is where this truly shines. It introduces probably one of my favorite characters ever.

I loved reading the book. I wouldn't normally read it again but I'm intrigued by this comment. Is it worth listening to it?
