Bike Closet has some Force eTap groupset overstock deals - 1x or 2x road (HRD) groupsets in a few different configurations. I believe this is all 'D1', not the latest Force groupset that was just released.

These don't include chain, crankset, or cassette.

SRAM Force eTap AXS HRD 2x (6-bolt brakes) - $799 https://bikecloset.com/product/sr...-bolt-kit/

SRAM Force eTAP AXS HRD 1x (center-lock brakes) - $699 https://bikecloset.com/product/sr...-lock-kit/

SRAM Force eTAP AXS HRD 1x (6-bolt brakes) - $599 https://bikecloset.com/product/sr...-bolt-kit/

Shipping is $10.

I'm thinking of grabbing the latest kit to get most of the parts I need to move my Rival Mechanical gravel bike over to wireless shifting, possibly pairing it with a Transmission rear derailleur and cassette. Or grabbing the 2x set to have on hand if I decide to build a new road bike... Decisions..

Seen those too, but I'd be intererested in gravel setups with those and the included RD is kinda of a throw-away, if 10-33 capacity in a 1x setup... :/

The stock RD should go up to 36T. If you need more on the cassette then you'd need a wide setup. The difference between gen 1 and 2 are the shifters and hoods and FD mechanics. Otherwise there's no difference on d1 and d2 force

I would probably pair it with a Eagle GX RD and the whole MTB mullet thing if I was to do 1x12 on a gravel bike anyways...not fit enough* to keep pushing "only" 36T on the double and singletracks I regular in SoCal. This is too close where my 2x is at, but I get a nice 48/31 front to go with a 34T cassette and even that is long sometimes.

If I was going 1x, would like it to be 10-50T (srams ratio ramp spread is Meh @ lowest gears in the 10-50, but the 10-52 only makes it worse) rear with a 40 or 42T front to keep it versatile enough.

Would love this RD to be wider range to at least have some value selling ...I feel like there will be too many in the used market and not enough demand.

*unlike some godly good looking 👌 thigh-model stars in SD who can climb Arette (claimed 40deg / 80% slope) with fixie gearing 😉

So tempting but I don't want to have to deal with both mineral oil and DOT

My understanding is that there are two versions of the cage on the RD. one supports up to 33T and the other 36T.

What type of weight savings would etap add over my existing force 22 setup. Bike is sub 16 with cages, pedals, computer, but curious what could be eeked. I'm running mechanical discs, so would need to consider weight increase on hydraulic.

Check some #s here. Don't think there is much to be saved, especially if you consider that you go from 11s to 12s.

is this worth getting if I need a really low gear for steep climbing? Could I start with one of these packages and add a large cassette?

Neither kit comes with a chainring/crankset or rear cassette. So you can put anything you want. Just make sure your chain is compatible with the speed of your cassette.

36t max in the rear, but you can run a gravel gearing set up on the front crank.
I have a 46/30 front crank while it's not as optimal as srams set up it works pretty darn well.

I paid a lot more for arrival, so this is a good deal…

A mullet set up works just fine as well so I've heard, but you're gonna have to show up for a different rear derailer.

Jenson had the Ti Rotor 1x Package for $599 a couple weeks ago. Building up a new 1x Allez Sprint with a 48t up front and 10-36 out back for flat Oklahoma rides.

I was thinking of building a 1x crit bike with this but the prices of 1x SRAM cranksets in 48t or 50t are nuts. Even without PMs
