I do not think any of those are bad deals but "better" options should be similar in price (especially considering we are on a webpage devoted to pricing). Even the cheapest better is 20% more.
Now "worth it" is an entirely different conversation.

Not benefiting from over 100w and being a "scam" are hardly the same thing. The performance of 4050's and 4060's just plateau at 100-ish watts whereas the 4070's and 4080's keep seeing increases.

Thank you for being someone with logical reasoning.
"better" options and then he proceeded to mention deals priced $200 or above. Of course expensive deals are mostly going to be better.

LOL...these people (in my opinion) have no common sense. Do they wander around a Honda dealership and tell everyone shopping for CRV's that Land Rovers 'are a better deal?' Of course a $1250 laptop is going to be better (or you would hope) compared to a $800 machine but they are hardly in the same category of deals therefore rarely belong in the same conversation.

I was about to pull the trigger on this but I can find nothing about the GPU wattage other than Google's AI summary (beta feature that needs to be turned on) claiming the GPU is capped at 45w....could be completely false but the lack of info from MSI makes me wonder why they seem to be forgetting to share the wattage if it isn't capped.
Also "Disappointingly, the Cyborg 15 provides no Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB4 ports, or any provision for USB charging. (A 120-watt barrel plug is on the right edge for the AC adapter.) Instead, aboard are just two USB Type-A ports and one USB-C port, all capped at USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds (10Gbps)." https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/msi-cyborg-15-2023
But the CPU and more RAM out of the box is very tempting comparing it to this i5. Honestly I might be able to tolerate the lack of USB C charging but the (potentially) 45w capped GPU scares me.

Dude you were never going to ever charge the laptop with usb c. Stop lying to yourself.. there's no downside here it's usb 3.2 insane speed. Nobody charges there laptops with a cellphone charger

Really? So in place of using a charger that every single one of my other tech device(S) use (phone, tablet, iPad, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, work laptop, PC docking station, etc) I actually want to carry around another power brick that also does not work with anything else? You are right. I was lying to myself and you. I really want to throw yet another 1lb charger into my EDC bag and take it with me while traveling because the idea of having a single charger that works with 99% of tech produced after 2020 is absurd.

I never once mentioned data transfer speed.

Yes, no one uses USB C and that is only for cell phones. That is why all every single USB C dock with power delivery ships with barrel charger adapters not a USB C plug
Personally, I charge my cell phone (when traveling, at work, while waiting for a plane) with my laptop charger. But I also don't use a Nokia 3310 so I have that ability.
(either this dude is from 2013 or 2043 if they think USB C is not the most commonly and ubiquitous charging method for laptops, tablets, and damn near everything else)

Unfortunately gaming laptops don't fit that mold as USB-C won't be able to power the laptop under gaming load. I'm guessing most manufacturers don't include the battery charging functionality because of the endless support calls they'd get asking why the laptop is stuttering while trying to play COD plugged into usb-c.

Never suggested the USB C should be able to power it under full gaming load. But most gaming laptops do provide a means to charge them (perhaps slowly) via USB C and a vast majority of the time even when using you aren't at running your rig at full wattage anyway. Plus, even if there is a net loss of charge you can turn 2 hours of battery life into 6-8 by having it plugged via a slower charger.

I would say most DO provide the ability to charge via USB C....thus my complaint.
For example this exact gaming laptop (above) does provide for USB C charging. And that is why I replied to the comment linking to the MSI deal saying it may not appeal to everyone. Not to mention the fact the pcgam.com review I linked to even called out the lack of USB C charging (on a gaming laptop) as if the reviewer also felt it was a missing feature. So apparently I am not the only one.
If the lack of USB C charging doesn't bother you, more power to ya. To me it is a deal killer and something that can be found at this price point. Personally I rather have a functional feature such as this than to be able to pound my chest about a spec you couldn't pick out of a line up like "nits" which is meaningless without context or standardized measurements between manufacturers.

How much power do you think gaming laptops take?
USB C can provide upto 240watts! Even rtx4080 laptops usually max out at 240w.
lmaooo usb c making the game stutter is the biggest BS I've ever heard.
Not using a powerful enough adapter and blaming it on the usb port is absurd.

Spending more is "worth it" if the better build quality, better ram and drive, far better display, faster CPU, are worth it in addition to the GPU.
