Should be good, according to the reviews(138 reviews rated 4.8), all the negatives are related with Surface Pro 8

Decent for Steam Deck unless you transfer large files (AAA games, >50GB) regularly. For example, I downloaded ARK to Steam Deck = no problem. On the other hand, I transferred ARK to and from an external SSD to save space = 2-4 hours. I changed to WD 740 and the transfer time is around 1h.
However, I realized most of my time on Steam Deck is for Vampire Survivors alike games so the Inland drive is fine.

Do you think the speed up is because its TLC or because there is DRAM on the 740?

There is no DRAM on 2230 drives.

It's the nand and/or the controller.

So far, all the 2230 SSDs are dram-less; it is the controller, the latest controller is Phison E21
