This is a small travel router that connects to an ethernet port of an existing network, OR can be connected to an existing Wi-Fi network and used to create your own personal Wi-Fi network but this router uses a VPN to mask your traffic when used.
It can also be used on Visible to share a phone connection with multiple devices but you will be required to use a TTL hack to make it work.
1. Connect phone/laptop to captive login wifi.
2. Connect GL.iNet to power
3. Log in to GL.iNet web interace
4. Change GL.iNet router MAC address to the same as that of your phone/laptop.
5. Connect GL.Inet to hotel WiFi, and it'll work.
Side note, I have this and it works great, the VPN works well too.

Edit: found the answer and pulled the trigger. Total $63.08 through Amazon business acc.
No router is crappy like this...
it is only suitable for random occasional use.
Maybe someone will enlight me, but I never really understood why buying something more powerful than the mini travel routers mentioned above (or equivalent) to get unlimited hotspot with visible or other carriers. They can handle 4 or 5G speed all right. The one with detachable antenna(e) can be retrofitted with larger antenna(e). I have used successfully a yagi 15dBi and a 19dBi flat panel I used to use whilst war driving a LONG time ago.
Most new openwrt applications need run v20 or above. also Opal's the CPU SF19A28 architecture is not supported in any other version if you don't understand what it is. that is not for you, you can stay in v18 forever

One thing people haven't mentioned yet either is this router has Adguard home preinstalled, essentially the same thing as pihole.
