This may be YMMV, but cheaper if you do it piecemeal through Bedbathandbeyond.com (now owned by Overstock). For example, I just added these two to my cart and the site offered me a 12% off coupon:

Toto Drake Round Universal Height, $127.58 (bowl only, you decide which bowl you want: tall/round, tall/elongated, or standard/elongated): https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/...:CartItems
Toto Drake 1.6gpf tank only, $105.09: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/...:CartItems

-12% coupon: $204.75 plus tax (YMMV, otherwise $232.67), free shipping. Fulfilled by Build.com, which is Ferguson's website (another reputable retailer)

And here's the tall+elongated bowl, if you prefer that. Looks like it's about $20 more expensive, but still a bit less than Amazon with the coupon: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/...:CartItems

This is how I got mine last month, and you may get even better coupons.

Edit: just played around on the site and got offered a 17% coupon, so the total with the round bowl is $193.12+tax. Elongated is $224.84.

I bought this toilet for the toto bidet I bought along with auto flush. It has been a year and it's a dream. No clogs and the toilet is always clean, just light cleaning every few months. I am very happy with the purchase and this is a great deal that you can add a bidet to or keep it as is.

Every Toto toilet could be very different for installation. When we switched from Aquia to Nexus, everything had to be done differently and frustrated the contractor so much.
I don't know about other Toto models, I was watching general YouTube videos from 10+ years ago. From what I can tell, the Drake installs like a bog-standard (pun intended) two-piece toilet.

Why can we not get the toto toilets from Japan? When I first visited Japan in 2010 I thought it was a new invention to have a sink on the tank.... but they have been doing it since at least the 1960's! Why can this not happen here? It makes a ton of sense, you wash your hands after using the toilet, why not use that water that is going to be flushed anyways?
For the same reason most countries in the world don't use toilet paper, they don't have large amounts of it. Water is plentiful in the USA and people waste it without a care in the world. This isn't the case for Japan.
Also space savings. Many Japanese live in very large cities in very small (by USA standards) homes. Why waste precious square footage when you can combine the sink with your toilet and save money on water at the same time?

This would be derided in America. I could see the sensationalist fox news articles now about how they are coming for your bathroom sink.

They do sell attachments on amazon if you wanted to add one but they all look pretty cheap.

Best to price match with Home Depot and pick up in store, to avoid dealing with a unit broken during shipment.
I went to HD to price match and they said they don't price match Amazon and didn't even know what build.com was. Not sure how anyone could PM with HD.

I bought a Toto drake in 2015 or 2016 that didn't have the non-stick surface. (got a good deal on it because it didn't)
It has never clogged.
This year (after 7 or 8 years of ownership) I had to replace the valve cap assembly and flapper.
They were easy to replace and not all that expensive.
I have city water and it is very hard water. They probably would have lasted longer with unchlorinated soft water.
That is the only issue I've had.

About once a month I berate myself for not forking over the extra money for the new one with non-stick surface.
which one is non stick surface? do you have a link? I could not find it in amazon

I got these Niagara 0.8 GPF Single Flush 12" Elongated Toilet toilets from home depot a couple of years back and installed them myself. Best decision of my life. no clogs / leaks and flushes with one flush every time. My only gripe as the toilet seat moving but fixed that with metallic toilet seat bolts from home depot. I paid $150 back in the day. Not much more expensive at 170 now.

Hello, can someone please confirm the rough-in size? It says "fits" into 12in rough-in. Does that mean it's only a 10in rough-in but fits into a 12in?

I am looking for 12in so there is no gap between the back of the toilet and the wall. Their chart on the Amazon link shows them all 10in if I understand correctly? Thank you for your help!
No, it's designed for a 12" rough and will be right up against the wall with one. If you need a 10", that's a physically different model. For example, CST776CEFG is the standard 12" size, vs CST776CEFG.10 for a 10".

Used JULYMOVER to save 15%, ordered this, thanks.
JULYMOVER worked perfectly on Bed Bath and Beyond. I'm waiting until 10/1 before checking out so that I can get the Chase Freedom 5% PayPal discount. Hope it still works by then.

Is this the one they say can't be clogged?
Professional toilet clogger here. I've had this for about 8 years and I'd say I clog it an average of once per year. That's likely the best performance among consumer models. Some of the commercial models that sound like a jet engine are probably better, but this one does really well.

1.6 is the way to go. Damm I wish this was on sale 3 months ago as I replaced all 3 of my toilets. I bought 1 Toto Aquia but it was the 1.2 version.

1.2 is just not enough water to flush cleanly.
I can't stress this enough. Don't buy any dual flush or eco-flush trash. The fact that one has to do multiple flushes totally destroys the "water-saving" feature they claim to have.

775 is also on sale. TOTO Drake Two-Piece Round 1.6 GPF Universal Height TORNADO FLUSH Toilet with CEFIONTECT, Cotton White - CST775CSFG#01 https://a.co/d/hoaOey8. from the post above it's round and universal height vs tall and elongated. about $40 cheaper.
I had always bought round toilet bowls until SD educated me on the benefits to men of elongated toilet bowls. I'm getting this deal to replace my round bowl (giving them extra space where they need it most). Smilie

We replaced all of our toilets with Totos in 2014 and haven't needed to use a plunger even once since then. Prior to that hubby needed a plunger practically every time 🤦🏼 ♀️. This is a game changer. For the record though, we don't have this model, we have the 1.28 gpf Entrada toilets which were cheaper at that time than the Drake. All Todo toilets are great at flushing tho. We keep a plunger in the garage just in case of an emergency but again, haven't needed one since these were installed almost 10 years ago.
Thanks for the info!

Can you help me understand this? Are you saying there's a gap between the back and the wall?
Its the amount of space between the drain in the floor and the wall behind the toilet. Some brands say their toilet is 12" rough in but you bring it home, get the old one off, and the fit for the new one is too tight when assembled. Either because the water tank is slightly recessed toward the back or the toilet tank cover won't fit over it.

Most times you can take the risk and squeeze it in, but will probably end up cracking eventually which won't end well. Not a big deal for people with a large toilet area but for me with limited space, its good because its closer to ~11.5
