This 3 light combo (for the latest generation lights) has only been offered by Home Depot once before which was about 10 months ago and it was $129. I missed that deal since it was a limited time offer. Although it's now $20 more it's still a great deal, even when these lights come up on Direct Tool's website as blemished (which is not too often) they will total more than this combo.

Add my name to the list of people who got it last year and have REALLY liked it.

I'd always thought of lights as filler items to pad the number of tools in a kit, but these things deliver. I've been very happy with them. We had a project last winter where we needed to rake someone's lawn well after dark. I pointed the spotlight at the white wall of a shed and set the panel light up on something, lighting the whole yard. If I wasn't running out of space in the garage, I might consider buying another set.

I'm heavily invested in Ryobi. Do you think it's worth it to get this deal? I don't have any rigid batteries…

I could buy some and then buy the Rigid to Ryobi adapter to maximize their use?

Or do I wait for a hopeful Black Friday sale on Ryobi lights?

Any advice appreciated.
If there are any adapters to use Ryobi batteries on Ridgid tools, they'd be really clunky and unwieldly due to the shape of the Ryobi battery. Ryobi has similar lights available, so it'd be best to just look for deals on those.

The adapter will probably cost about $25. I got the Ryobi Spotlight (3000 lumens vs 3200 lumens for the Ridgid) back in Jan for $30 shipped. I got the Ridgid Torch light for $15 shipped and also one from HD for $20. I got the Ridgid Trifold light Gen 1 for $50 sometime ago. As you can see, the total is not too far from the combo deal if you factor in the adapter. Usually it's expensive to buy the batteries so i have always buy tools to get free battery. I recommend that you stick with a system/platform you are comfortable with.

I've had the first gen folding work light for several years now and still love it. So freaking bright! IIRC I paid about $70 without a battery from HD.

Thanks for your reply and advice, and to everyone else who chimes in. I'll stick with Ryobi and wait for their lights to on sale. Cheers!

I don't believe that DeWalt batteries have a low voltage cut-off built in, so using them on other brands that don't have it on the tool could be problematic.

I almost pulled the trigger on this kit - except for the fact that I've read multiple times that the spotlight isn't water resistant. Absolutely trash honestly.
Ah interesting you say that, the original spotlight I didn't realize fell out of my golf cart and fell in the lake. 8 days later I see a Ridgid light by my dock. It had water behind the lens, growth on it at this point. A week later after letting it sit on the porch I decided to fire it up. That was 5 months ago, still working great! I'm sure this would be fine if it got rained on or you're in the water😂

I only want the spotlight, and I would never in a million years pay $100 for it. it's friggin LEDs that run off a battery I already have. I can get a $30 spotlight that plugs into my cig lighter and is every bit as bright, $100 is a joke.

People don't use these lights around a car all the time.

Well, that's an easy problem to solve -- just buy a car!

I should have clarified, the types of spotlights I'm talking about are also rechargeable and have a built in lithium battery. The ridgid would be a nice step up in convenience for those of us with the batteries already, but the price tag on this particular tool is absurd even when on "sale". $99 with a battery is definitely not a deal.

No, you won't be able to since these lights are sold as a kit (unlike other deals where you buy a tool and get another tool free).
