It's not because we get a bulk discount on food. In fact, we don't buy food at all. Because lack of food isn't the problem in the United States. The problem is ensuring that children have reliable access to the food they need.
No Kid Hungry does that by supporting school and community meals programs, providing grants to help people get the equipment they need to feed kids and advocating for better laws and policies.
EDIT: I do throw stones at Citi for putting a limit on how much they will allow their users to pass on to the charity. I guess when the limit is reached, Citi will just put the rest in their pocket?! I remember Yoplait did this stunt when they said they would contribute (some cents) to (some cause) for every sale. Except that they capped the amount to a relatively modest figure. I guess they just put the rest in their pocket. Bastards.

Yeah, I totally get it it costs nothing to enroll (obviously bank is going to mine that data and mark your account as "interested in charity" for future marketing) and I support the cause. But goddammit Citi, you are a mega corporation, you don't need us to "help" with donation. Just donate the money!
