Because in reality the expiration date is only a suggested shelf life. The product doesn't know to just stop working on a given date. It's honestly one of the biggest scams to get people to buy a new product based on an expiration date. I work in supply chain and see so many items get tossed because of an expiration date. From a Harvard study: "90% of more than 100 drugs, both prescription and over-the-counter, were perfectly good to use even 15 years after the expiration date." (https://www.health.harvard.edu/st...20to%20use.) YMMV

Expired tests also yield false results.
Remember that many of the tests have had their expiration dates extended beyond the printed dates!

Interesting. All I know is that we tested a relative with an expired kit and it yielded a false negative. We tested again with a newer test kit and it was positive.

These are pretty useless. I know of multiple people who ended up with Covid and for all of them the kit showed negative. Only a PCR test confirmed the infection.
This a test. Not to prevent Covid.

It worked for when my Wife and Son had covid. Showed positive in less than a minute.

It's about time. Didn't feel like buying kits again.

Based on what tests or studies have you concluded this? Man, just remarkable.
A positive on a rapid test is about 99% positive. However, you may still test negative on a rapid test, even if you are positive. This is when a PCR test comes in.

I'm so very thankful for these. As a high risk household due to immunocompromised individuals in my home, it's very useful to catch it asap when someone is sick. So far, we have avoided COVID completely by continuing to mask up and social distance as much as possible.

I understand that a lot of the world has moved on, but please understand that some of us can't.

But most of these have expired at this point. I had some of the latest ones and the last expiration was extended to April 2023. They've been expired 5 months.

I just bought some this week. Go figure.

We removed posts that were off topic and not related to the test kits and ordering/delivery of them. That's what the deal is for and what the discussion should be about. Any further questions about this, feel free to PM me so as not to derail the thread. Thanks Smilie
If SD held every topic to that standard there'd be 70% fewer posts on this website. So singling out this "deal" is a political statement in and of itself. This topic is self-derailing by this moderation standard and should therefore be deleted.

Some kits expiration date has been extended, so be sure and check it using the link on the site before tossing them out.
I had some that were around the extension period, more than one actually just didn't show any lines at all.
