Because in reality the expiration date is only a suggested shelf life. The product doesn't know to just stop working on a given date. It's honestly one of the biggest scams to get people to buy a new product based on an expiration date. I work in supply chain and see so many items get tossed because of an expiration date. From a Harvard study: "90% of more than 100 drugs, both prescription and over-the-counter, were perfectly good to use even 15 years after the expiration date." (https://www.health.harvard.edu/st...20to%20use.) YMMV

These are pretty useless. I know of multiple people who ended up with Covid and for all of them the kit showed negative. Only a PCR test confirmed the infection.
Not saying these are 100% accurate but it's pretty easy to mess up the test or do it wrong.

These tests have greatly helped people I know by letting them catch it early enough to quarantine and keep it from spreading to their households, which I might add is also a difficult task which will require a little effort and knowledge.

Last time i ordered a batch, expiry dates were on the shorter side. So order only what you need, not to stockpile bc it'll be a waste...

edit: keep on getting replies to this - i know about the updated expiry dates, i actually used them 6 months past the new updated recommendation.
can guarantee 3 months past updated expiry bc i got covid nov 2022 and the tests original exp was like in june same year

Perfect timing. Just recovered from covid 3 days ago so time to add these back to my test kit stash. These tests are great, was able to detect it early and quarantine accordingly

The virus load wasn't high enough for the cheapie test to see it likely.

Some kits expiration date has been extended, so be sure and check it using the link on the site before tossing them out.
