Because in reality the expiration date is only a suggested shelf life. The product doesn't know to just stop working on a given date. It's honestly one of the biggest scams to get people to buy a new product based on an expiration date. I work in supply chain and see so many items get tossed because of an expiration date. From a Harvard study: "90% of more than 100 drugs, both prescription and over-the-counter, were perfectly good to use even 15 years after the expiration date." (https://www.health.harvard.edu/st...20to%20use.) YMMV

These are pretty useless. I know of multiple people who ended up with Covid and for all of them the kit showed negative. Only a PCR test confirmed the infection.
Had covid 4 times. Each time confirmed with PCR. PCR and swab tests have both been spot on with detecting COVID.

I was tested daily via PCR. Had a cache if swab tests I would take at home before going to work if I had a slight suspicion I was infected. Never had a false positive of a false negative. PCR tests, maybe 20 swabs, and it all were consistent with each other.

Not saying the cannot be inaccurate. I know PCR is vastly more accurate, however, to say these are pretty useless is false.

How can you just extend an expiration date? Seems shady to me
Initial expiration dates were conservative and with more testing as time has gone on the tests were found to be accurate out to a later date. It's not shady and it makes total sense.

They found them to be accurate beyond the original expiration. Only time tells. It is kind of like food being "best buy" you can still totally eat it. Ketchup has an expiration date. Pickles do too. I mean come on.

COVID occurrence on the rise again or just bc winter is coming?
Both, already had two positive cases in one kids classroom in the last 2 weeks. But luckily things are different now so no one else caught it. No one else had to miss any school. Positive covid case kids were back in school 3 days later, I'm assuming they testing negative. That's how they allowed kids back to school last year after testing positive (or after 10 days.)

I've read that taking 1 home test is about 70% accurate but taking them on back to back days if automatic raises it to around 95%

Last time i ordered a batch, expiry dates were on the shorter side. So order only what you need, not to stockpile bc it'll be a waste...
Many tests have had their expiration extended by several months. The FDA has a site where you can check the lot number.

Confused as to why you removed many that were truthful and factual, not politically leaning one way, such as this was a waste of taxpayer money.
We removed posts that were off topic and not related to the test kits and ordering/delivery of them. That's what the deal is for and what the discussion should be about. Any further questions about this, feel free to PM me so as not to derail the thread. Thanks Smilie

Not getting any because I don't need them but sharing this information to anyone in need of them or to have just in case. Plus, any unused test by the government will just be trashed. We already paid for them with our taxes so might as well get them or share the post.

Isn't the app basically a user guide?
