These are N95, not KN95. These are certified by the US.

For light construction / demo / diy these are great and a good deal. They keep particles from entering my lungs (95% of microscopic particles down to 0.3um like paint vapors and wild fires). That's literally what they are designed to do.

And it doesn't care what those particles are made of, so it also stops viruses like COVID and influenza.

I believe the model hospitals would prefer is the 9210 rather than the 9205 here. The difference is in the strap -- the 9205 is a rubber-only strap that tends to break easily (in my personal experience), while the 9210 is a fabric-and-elastic strap that holds up a lot better (I've noticed some 9210 straps loosening up over time, but have never had one fail).

Still a good deal though.

Edit: From your replies, it sounds like the 1870 makes more sense for healthcare. The synthetic rubber strap doesn't absorb liquid (cleaner), and it adds fluid resistance.

To avoid fakes, you can order these through Home Depot with price match. They didn't charge me extra for shipping either.

This has been the price for a while. I just got some of the 20pks two weeks ago.

The crazy deal is the pack of 440...they were $89 at the end of August! Even at 139 they're good

This is the one to get. This is the packaged version they sell to Hospitals, it is not in a consumer box

They are way more comfortable than earloop surgical masks in my opinion. Earloop masks make my ears sore.

YMMV but these are the most comfortable I have found. Fairly easy to do a long flight. In any event, no brainer for household use at this price

You're not going to wear a mask when you sand drywall?
I think they learned the hard way in the construction community to wear masks. I know many first responders after 9-11 had serious issues because they thought it wasn't "manly" to wear masks and they got all kinds of cancer and lung problems. Fast forward 20 years later, you think people would be more educated...nope, just as dumb as they ever were. It's unreal.

It's wildfire season. N95 masks are recommended when the air quality is too bad.

3M 9205: my favorite, blue elastic strap, no waterproof membrane so very breatheable
3M 1870: red straps, waterproof membrane makes breathing slightly more difficult
3M 9210: white fabric straps are way too tight for my head size and don't stretch enough
