Is it just me or does 29" width seem VERY small for a desk?

Shows in the diagram that the distance between the 2 legs is only 29".

Hi Everyone,

I do not have this desk, I have a Fully Jarvis desk. I was originally going to build a desk and slickdeals had a deal of electric legs from Walmart, that was cancelled and Ikea had a deal on the desk top, that they have since discontinued, but I purchased during that sale.

Here are things to consider:

-- Determine how low and how high a desk will go. If you are taller, you might find the legs do not go high enough. This is the case with many two section leg desks.
-- Is the desk single or double motored.
-- At its highest point, how stable back and forth, front to back is the table top. A lot of them have a lot of play in them and if writing the top can move around.
-- In most, the table top is critical for the stability of the desk as it is part of the support system. Sometimes a thicker top is better.
-- A lot of purchased tops are counter depth, so maybe 25 or 26 inches. A normal desk is 30 inches or more. It might not seem like a lot of space, but it is. Once you get your computer and keyboard on the top of the desk, that is a lot of real estate taken up.
-- Many desks will disclose the maximum weight they support on the desk top. Better ones more weight supported. Remember the motor needs to move the weight up and down and the legs need to support the weight and keep the desk from wobbling.
-- How the desk is leveled. This can be important also if your desk will be sitting on carpet.
-- The desk will also tell you the smallest and largest desktop it will accommodate. For me this was critical since I built my own top as the space I was putting it in was on the small side. I will want a full size desk once the kids move out and I can put the purchased top back on the desk. There is a center support that is used to mount the motor, run wires, and help provide stability to the desk. They come in different sizes to support different desk sizes (e.g. a range of sizes)

I cheeped out on the desktop as the edge I put on it has a small lip. I use a full size desk pad that works great under the mouse, keyboard, etc. and the monitor and speaker are on the desktop.

I have found the sit/stand desk very useful. One use, since the desk is in my bedroom, I can extend it up and watch movies in bed.

One last thing. I do find that you are probably not moving your desktop up and down as much as you might think. So the electric desk is really wonderful, those with the manual Husky desks are also getting the benefit of a sit/stand desk and a little bit more physical activity when they crank the handles. For me the biggest two items off the list would be stability of the desk and the depth of the desk. The distance up and down, you will need to measure based on your height.

I accidentally watched their assembly video. And it looks like the headphone hooks are part of the structural design of keeping those two desktop pieces together. So, you have to place the hooks there whether you want them or not, and you cannot relocate the hooks. But, don't quote me on that. Just an observation. Smilie
~2:15 on their video.

Just got one of these free to try out. Not bad, but it was kind of a pain to put together.

They are all the same...just different sizes and some with drawers. I got the 62" with drawers in white and the 46" in white without drawers.

No horizontal brace for the legs. I would definitely not trust my Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor ot anything else expensive on this table.

I think I'm gonna outfit my whole office with Husky furniture in my next house. Heavy duty and more purpose-built for my activities (3D printing, gun building, Christmas light prop building).

Just wanted to say these 2-footed desks get wobbly on carpet.
