What does this mean

Vz also offers, Teacher, Nurse, First Responder, and Student discounts (2 lines max).

I'm referring to the 2 lines max part.

Plus contract for 2 or 3 years of overpriced service.

Always compare the 3 years of service that you are forced to pay to get discounted phone with other carriers. Total 3 year cost. Include the resale value of phone you turn in.

Verizon, ATT are very expensive when you get a discounted phone and get trapped in 3 year contract.
If you have 4 lines the price per line drops making Verizon more reasonable.

guys newbie here and most of the time i dont unserstand this kind of promotion with bill credits.
Questions:
1)I have Iphone 12 with me unlocked.I understand i have to trade in this.
But when purchasing iphone 15 pro via this costco/verizon offer ,do i need to pay 1200$ + tax upfront to costco?
2)I plan to add one line on my friends name who is primary owner here.Do i still get 250$ costco shop card?

A teacher can apply their discount to up to 2 lines. No more.

yup... i have my parents on our plan as well, price drops nicely per line along with my discounts through work.
i've had VZ forever, they're the only company with solid connection between NY where I live, NJ where I work and PA where I visit family... just traded in an old iPhone X, got the 830$ credit and a 15 Pro for my wife.

For some, these deals are perfectly fine. I never care about the contracts, because I'm not swapping anyway.

When are people going to learn that that a bill credit is a garbage deal that locks you in for years. Upfront credit or rebate back or NO DEAL. Must be the same people that pay dealer market adjustments and have a car loan 10 years. Suckers
Seems like you don't understand the math yourself. I have a phone that is effectively worth $50 on eBay or Facebook Marketplace because it has a cracked screen. I can sell it there for $50 cash, or trade it into Verizon for $830 in credits over 3 years. Which is higher, $830 or $50?????

I can cancel the Verizon contract anytime I want but I just lose out on the credits over 3 years. Even if I stay with Verizon for a few months and get some of that $830 promotional credit, I am still ahead because I am getting more than the $50 for my phone.

true, not a traditional contract... but it's the new "not a contract, contract", where they stick you with the unpaid amount on the phone if you leave early. so not really all that different than the old way of buying your way out of a contract.

that said... i ain't leaving anytime soon, so i don't care and i like 830$ a phone for service that works where I live Wink (as I posted previously, line prices are fine/comparable if you have enough people on your account and have employer discounts)

You have to do the math. If you are going to spend $1000 on a phone anyways AND will stay with a carrier, it's better to trade in a device and use their promotional credit.

What's better? Paying $1000 up front and trading in the device for $100 in cash?
Or paying $1000 divided by 36 months, minus $830 in promo credit over 36 months??

Help me understand your line of thinking here please

Who cares. It's still a contract. A different type of contract in that if you breach "cancel" the contract, you lose out on the credit.

So it's better to sell my phone on eBay for $50 in cash rather than take advantage of $830 in credits over 36 months????? Verizon will take any phone even if it has a cracked screen.

Just mailed my 2016 old iPhone SE in this morning. Got $830 credit towards my Son's iPhone 15 Pro.

I'll happily take the credits. Hell, even if I upgrade him in two years, the credit is worth it! The 8yr old iPhone is almost worthless LOL

They also offer discounts for Military/Veterans [verizon.com].

Up to
15%off
Eligible plans & waived activation fees on service.

Up to
25%off
Selected accessories
when purchased online through
My Verizon.
Where does it say they waive activation fees? Because I've had the military discount for years and they've never waived activation fees.

You do NOT pay for the iPhone 15Pro, but if you terminate the contract before 3 years, you pay the remaining balance with no interest added.
You get $250 shop card for NEW lines and $100 shop card for existing line.

$830 back for any phone ?? Or "up to" 830 depending on a model??

if any phone for 830$ then it's a freaking amazin deal
ANY PHONE, even if cracked but has to be functional.

Did they end their partnership with Tmo in favor of Verizon?

Every deal i've seen this week has been for ATT and VZW, no matter what the store.
Each Costco has a different SINGLE carrier now.
