For 95% of people, there is no way staying with the 3 major carriers makes better sense than going to a MVNO. For the lucky 5%, you have to have a combination of multiple lines, grandfathered plan, corporate discount, and/or status discount which doesn't work for most people.

MVNO also usually don't have activation fee and monthly tax & fees are included in the advertised price, not in addition to like the 3 major carriers. Those fees add up to $100~150 a year and in 3 years, 1/3 of your $1000 discount is gone.

Of course this is Slickdeals so there will be more of the 5%ers here promoting this deal. But you really need to crunch the numbers to see if it makes sense for you. 3 years is a lot of time for Verizon to make changes to the plan you are signing up for and since the iPhone is locked until you paid it off you won't be jumping carrier anytime soon if fee go up

this states 60 days ... maybe, this means after the purchase is completely paid for?

They also offer discounts for Military/Veterans [verizon.com].

Up to
15%off
Eligible plans & waived activation fees on service.

Up to
25%off
Selected accessories
when purchased online through
My Verizon.
Are all the discounts (teacher, nurse, etc. ) the same 15% off. What does UP TO 15% mean? They also give employee discounts for certain companies; these were different percentages depending on what company you worked. I'm sure you can't stack the discounts.

I just went to my Costco and my iPhone 5C showed eligible on their device list, but when the rep tried trading it in through Verizon it said it wasn't eligible. Just a heads up

When are people going to learn that that a bill credit is a garbage deal that locks you in for years. Upfront credit or rebate back or NO DEAL. Must be the same people that pay dealer market adjustments and have a car loan 10 years. Suckers
It is essentially worse than contract. You have to pay the full price +tax on contract and then you will get the credit back in 3 years. Old way you can upgrade the phone for a nominal charge and then if you want to break the contract you ca just pay the prorated break fee. If you want to switch you have to pay the balance payment and forfeit the remaining credit. There is no difference. Same contract with a different trick which I think was introduced first by T-Mobile.

T-Mobile was better. 250 port in credit + 150 shop card. Up to 1000 for trade in.

What is the cheapest Vz plan I can take for this deal? I need 3 lines. I'm currently with Xfinity paying 75$ per month for all three lines (2 lines unlimited for 30$ each and 3rd line is 15$ per gig).
That's what I was looking for too. But I doubt it will be anywhere close to $25/line.

Just want to add a few details I confirmed with Costco/Verizon.

I spoke with guy at Costco and he said they don't have any in-store. They can only create the order but it will take two days for the device to deliver to your home.

I was also able to replicate the deal by contacting Verizon directly. The guy on the phone had to check with his supervisor as he hadn't heard of the promotion but they did end up finding it. However, he couldn't get the order to be directed for in-store pickup. He claims delivery was the only option showing up and their estimates was for delivery on 10/6.

Unfortunately, you have to pay the activation fee.
.
OP, just want to confirm, were you able to walk out the store with the devices or did they simply create a delivery order for you?

It depends on how many they sell between now and November. It's too early to say right now. There will be the usual stampede of fanbois snapping up the NEWEST iThingy for the first month or so. The iPhone 15 will be hard to come by in the near future because of that. Want the iPhone Pro? Order one today and you'll see it in mid-October. iPhone Pro Max? Mid-November.

Globally, there are 250 million iPhones that are in use today that are > 4 years old. These are the folks who will decide whether the iPhone 15 is a hit or a flop. Will they upgrade now, or wait? Is it worth it to them to spend > $1,000 (or your eternal soul for future credits to your account) to get a better camera and a USB-C connector? Only time will tell. There are more reasons than usual to be concerned about this iPhone's potential. I've spelled them out in other threads only to be savaged by the Apple fanbois so I'll leave it at that.
can you link any posts re: thoughts on an iphone 15 pro max? still stuck w/my iphone x...haven't seen a worthwhile upgrade deal in forever.

Grandfathered unlimited data plan. If you have this plan, you probably got it 10 years ago and you don't want to turn loose of it because you'll never get it back. I had 4 lines and sold them one at a time on ebay. Crazy what some heavy users are willing to spend on it. Not as great as it used to be because they added a fee for being on it.

yup... i have my parents on our plan as well, price drops nicely per line along with my discounts through work.
i've had VZ forever, they're the only company with solid connection between NY where I live, NJ where I work and PA where I visit family... just traded in an old iPhone X, got the 830$ credit and a 15 Pro for my wife.

For some, these deals are perfectly fine. I never care about the contracts, because I'm not swapping anyway.
Hi that's a great deal, how did you get $830 trade in credit for iPhone X, I got only 415 when I upgraded and preorderd iPhone 15 pro.
