Is the consensus we can only trade in 1 iPhone if we go through Costco?
I was able to open 4 lines with 4 trade ins.

So do we need to bring in the iPhones we plan on trading in?
Need to bring the phone in. The rep checks it out and enters the imei.
Verizon then will send mailer to mail the phones in.
They don't take the phone, but they need to see the phone.

Upgraded four phones at Costco, but the rep never took down my IMEI numbers nor do I see any reference about the trade-in credit on the receipt. I called Verizon corporate but they don't know the details since it was done through an Authorized Retailer.

Is the promotion process different through Costco or did I just get screwed out of the $830?

Use one of those cheap cell phone plans and never be able to get service in dense areas because you're deprioritized versus everyone else!
Yeah, that's why I'm going to switch

Does the $42 a month include taxes and fees? I am currently on the "New Unlimited Plan" with 7 lines and it is $42 after all taxes and fees.
I have 6 people on a plan and a military discount. Otherwise the line is $46.75 after tax without a device payment plan. If you have a teacher or hospital worker in your group, I think they get the same discount

This is tempting. Yes the bill credits suck, however it is basically the norm now.

My strategy the past couple upgrades has been this,
-keep my current phone in perfect shape using a case/screen protector. Some good luck also.
-buy a phone off EBay for $70-$80 that qualifies for the max trade in value and use that as my trade in.
-Sell current phone on OfferUp and use that towards monthly Verizon bill.

It's a little extra work and it doesn't get around the 3yr commitment, however makes it more palatable. Besides, I'm not planning on leaving Verizon at the moment.

This years breakdown played out like this,
-bought a used Pixel 4a for $50 off eBay, cracked screen but working.
-used for $830 trade in value towards iPhone 15.
-sold iPhone 12 on OfferUp for $325.
-I pocket $227 after paying upgrade fee and paying for the Pixel.

I also jumped on the Cox deal for 2 iPhone 15 which is a slightly better deal if you really want to be "off contract". If can sell your current phone for ~$250-300 you end paying about $200 for an iPhone 15 once you factor in the 3 months of service/activation fee and the $500 gift card.

Something is fishy here. Normally they would enter the imei, even if you don't have the phone with you, you bring the imei, so that costco can print out the rebate form with that information on it. If you return a phone that's different than what was in the system, there's heck of hassle to go through to get it cleared.

That's nice to know. Verizon direct won't take my iPhone 5. I might have to make a trip to Costco

It's unlimited. What I'm saying is you don't need to get on an old plan to get the value. Here Verizon vs. Tmobile. I have never seen Verizon giving away free lines. If you have to get the iphone15 then go with Tmobile, even if the Go5G is not cheap. Down the road you'll be able to get free lines.

Personally I could care less about 3 years contract. Been on Tmo for more than a decade so 3 yrs is nothing. But the no-sim tray kills it for me.
I don't think any us carriers have sim trays…do the ones sold at Apple have sim trays?

You should have been given a link via text to review the order and on the order it should have showed what you're trading in including the IMEI as well as the value of that trade in and how it'll affect your bill moving forward.

I just upgraded 2 lines in Costco hours ago. If you're trading in an active device, they have the IMEI. If you're trading in a random device that's eligible, you have to provide the IMEI to be applied for the promotion.

If something isn't right, you need to go back and have them fix it ASAP before it gets fully processed.

Yes, something seems fishy, go back and get it sorted out.
That said, I was told if you buy from Costco you have 90 days to return the phone. I don't know how that works though, but it suggest you can go back and get it fixed.

It happened to me as well. The rep didn't take my trade in imei. Today I checked with Verizon customer care and they told promotion not applied at all. They told you have to cancel the order and place the order again. Again I have visited Costco but Verizon shop was closed.

Are these upgrade lines? Do you have a print out from them promising the $830 credit? From what I'm learning from Verizon direct is, an upgrade (not a new phone line) only has limited eligibility on what qualifies for the $830. The rep told me iPhone 11 and higher. Everything else gets trade in value. What I fear is going into the Costco booth, being promised $830 and then not getting that from Verizon, because they didn't meet the trade in requirement.

Went to the Verizon kiosk at Costco in Brooklyn NYC and was told my iPhone SE 2020 would only trade-in for $430. I'm an existing Verizon customer FWIW. Anybody else have the same experience as an existing customer with an iPhone SE 2020 model?

Sounds like it's based on the plan. You might've picked the lowest ultimate plan
