It happened to me as well. The rep didn't take my trade in imei. Today I checked with Verizon customer care and they told promotion not applied at all. They told you have to cancel the order and place the order again. Again I have visited Costco but Verizon shop was closed.
Yep had the exact same experience. Called Verizon corporate and the trade-in promotion was not applied. Cancelled my Costco order and trying to replace through verizon.com instead. I was able to place a new order for one of the lines, but the others are now stuck on "There's an upgrade already in progress for this line" even for devices that never shipped. What a pain.

For others that have already placed an order through Costco: verify with Verizon corporate that the trade-in promotion is applied

4 lines for me is $124 including tax with TMobile's One Plan (insider discount and auto-pay discount applied). Sounds like to me Verizon is ~$60 more expensive, ouch

I have 6 people on a plan and a military discount. Otherwise the line is $46.75 after tax without a device payment plan. If you have a teacher or hospital worker in your group, I think they get the same discount

You pay $31 a line and have no upgrade benefits. If we are comparing apples to apples, that's like having 4 people on the unlimited welcome plan on Verizon. For that including my military discount, it comes out to $22.70 per line after tax

Explain yourself then because there is no similarity to ADM's or 10 year loans.

I don't plan to switch carriers.
Current phone is 3 years old.
I usually follow a 3 or so year upgrade plan.
New phone is $1199.

I either pay $1199 + tax outright, or I can take advantage of their bill credits and pay $11/mo for 3 years ($396 + original tax), all at 0% interest.

I'll await your logic.
$11/month plus how much for the required plan?

We pay $40/line per month for unlimited which includes Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ and Apple Arcade.

Before they went to this recent round of unlimited plans, the newer plans were better than the grandfathered plans.

$40/mo for unlimited data (50gb, then throttled), 20gb hotspot, Disney+/ESPN+/Hulu included is hard to beat.

The ones you can select today, not as good overall but still not bad.
I was on the gUDP for years to the point where it was close to $110 per month. Switched plans last year and haven't noticed a difference, gotten more perks (streaming), and shaved off roughly $35 on my monthly bill. Honestly, I held onto that old plan too long.

I've been saying this for years now for those who were on the grandfathered plans. The new plans do have "premium" data limits then they throttle, but in Verizon's case it's 50gb of data then they throttle depending on which plan you have. Some go up to 75gb.

I mean, damn son, if you're using that much data per month that's some serious screen time.

I'd like to see how much it comes out to be after taxes, surcharges, service fees

There was one OS that was notoriously bad for this, don't recall which one. Then a .1 or .2 update was sent out and fixed it.

I've owned every iPhone from the original to now the latest and have always been the first to update my phone when a new OS comes out. Besides that one I mentioned above, every other one has been nearly bug free, or at least was quickly fixed with a dot update.

Also, if you don't already, after you do any major OS upgrade, make sure to fully powered down your device, wait 5 minutes, then power it back up. This helps to get rid of any existing bugs or new ones that pop up due to the transition.
I appreciate that there may be "ways around the problem" but seriously Apple can go straight to hell for creating the problem in the first place.

Offering me added "features" while destroying the performance of my phone gets me pretty upset.

Again. I avoid the problem by just never updating. At this point Apple isn't really doing anything dramatically new anyways.

Does anyone know if when buying from a Verizon kiosk, does it show up on the credit card as a Verizon charge or a Costco charge? Bc starting 10/1, chase freedom is offering 5% cash back at wholesale clubs

Also - can I purchase the phone at full price without trading in? Or this promo for the shop card only works if trading in and going with 36 month credits?

That is what it comes out to after taxes surcharges and fees. Unlimited welcome for me is $27 before taxes per line. $31.47 with taxes. Military discount is $50 off the entire account. I divide that between my 6 line for a discount of $8.30. So anyone who currently chooses the unlimited welcome pays $23.17.

It's an authorized reseller, not costco. I think they offer the shop card with purchase, regardless of full price or payments but check with them first. You also have to have an eligible unlimited data plan.

For existing lines, at least, it appeared to be an X or higher. For new lines, I think it's any working phone.

Thanks! Ya I have an eligible plan, I was gonna just want a few days till October to order. But seems it's charged by Verizon.

Any idea if they have phones in store, or do these reps simply place an order for shipping?
